One of my Jacksonville buddies retired as a machinist's mate, serving
aboard a nuclear carrier. After that, he was hired as a consultant by a
firm retained to work on reactors. Smart as he was, though, no one could
convince him to stop smoking cigarettes and they did him in. He was
*somewhat* less secretive than your mustered out old fart buddy.
