How many people from Florida do you actually know? I'm presently
from Florida, know hundreds of people, and none of them are lunatics.
Come visit some time. I'll take you boating and introduce you around
so you can make an informed decision instead of spouting some sort of
dogma that you've heard somewhere. Until you actually do that I'd
advise a tad more discretion. One of my neighbors is from Seattle and
he's quite happy with Florida.

JPS is, after all, TRASH@THEDUMP. Is his opinion worth anything to us?

Florida doesn't even make the top 10 list

http://www.policymic.com/articles/22...st-cities-2012

Murders per capita

1: Flint, Michigan
2: Detroit, Michigan
3: New Orleans, Louisiana
4: St. Louis, Missouri
5: Baltimore, Maryland
6: Birmingham, Alabama
7: Newark, New Jersey (Tied)
7: Oakland, California
8: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
9: Cleveland, Ohio
10: Memphis, Tennessee

Another piece of gee whiz info, Idaho has a lower murder rate than
Maine and Maine is called the safest state in the US.

Everyone in Idaho has a gun and a lot of them are machine guns.

Whoa. Those look like drug infested, welfare areas. Maybe a connection?

Hard and soft drug use tend to lead the participants toward lives of
crime to support the habits, unless they are wealthy movie stars. ;-)

No opportunity, ****ty public school systems, living wage jobs gone.

If you've got to make a living to eat and the only job readily
available is running drugs, how many people are going to choose to
starve and how many will choose to engage an educational system that
has failed them where they have no standing?

We've stopped investing in those areas and they've declined, what's
the mystery?

Attitudes like yours help foster a blossoming drug culture. Bet you come
from permissive and apologetic parents.

With the exception of a few, everyone here is imported from some other country

I'm talking about the last 20 years. You might have heard that the NW
and Seattle in particular is growing at a very rapid pace.

What's the attraction?

Bull****!
Those schools may not be top tier, but the information is there. Maybe a
50% plus drop out rate is more of a problem than ****ty schools. I have
Cambodian friends. They got two years training when they got off the boat
paid for by the government. Then they were expected to get a job. Tina
got CNA training and worked in a hospital for a couple years. Opened a
restaurant and owns and runs a donut shop now. Sunny her husband, who
fishes with me sometimes, was trained as a machinist. Two years. We have
5th generation welfare families. Maybe we give them two years training and
then require work? Maybe welfare pays too well. We have welfare families
with 60" TV, cable and wearing $150 sneakers. And fat. Only country in
the world where the poor are obese. We do not invest in those areas as the
locals destroy or steal too much. Why is your business not in the inner
city? Why do you live in a gated community, and not in the innercity?

I don't live in a gated community, I live in the city and and my
business is located in an area that's attractive to current and
prospective employees, no matter their color or ethnicity.

Your Cambodians were obviously not weighed down by reduced
expectations. People come here all the time with the entreprenurial
spirit, it's those people the country attracts. What we've grown here
is something altogether different.

Inner city folks have been taught their chances of success are limited
by the color of their skin and their languge. And there's plenty of
evidence backing them up. Those that do make it out expend twice the
energy of a white person with similar expectations. The field is
tilted against them. If you don't admit that, you're deluding
yourself.

Those that make it out are made of the same gumption that your
Cambodian friends are made of.

In Idaho, everyone is scared of everyone else. I wasn't talking about
the murder rate in Florida, just the rate of loonies per capita.

You don't hear about a woman lighting a 3500 year old tree on fire so
she could see the meth she was consuming. These stories don't come
out of California, they come out of Florida.

Only because people like you LOOK for stories from Florida.
I demonstrate many times that if I am willing to look I find loony
stories from all over the world.

It's not me looking. I'm just a consumer of the news. Floriduh shows
up all on its own.
