Perhaps you should add Canadian and Mexican shootings to your postings. Salmonbait Guns and stupidity don't mix and we've got plenty of both in this country. Rec.boats is example enough. Would you call me a whiner if your kid or grandkid were among the dead in Newtown? Silly jerks. Pull your heads out of your asses and take a breath of air. You've been pointing out a problem continuously and repetitively ad nauseam for several years. ESAD's been calling names and making personal attacks for several years. Donnie's been following ESAD's lead as closely as possible for several years. Slammer's been scooping the cesspool for his vicious attacks for several years. You've all accomplished the same thing - zilch. Salmonbait Pointing out your hatreds and racism and that of your compadres here is accomplishment enough, especially since all of you continue to exhibit same. |

It seems perfectly appropriate to be really upset at the number of gun-caused murders in this country. If you are not really upset, then there is something wrong with you. It's very upsetting, Harry. but not to the point of drama. People live and people die.I''m aware of what the murder rate is especially in my state. But John had a valid question, What would JPS suggest doing about it. Instead of a a comprehensive answer he gets cussed, insulted and demeaned. So... "People live and people die." Wow. Herring is a racist, and deserves all the cussing, insults and demeaning comments he gets. |

We can certainly do a lot more to try to cut down on the number of fellow beings who are cut down by guns. By doing so, we are, in a way, denying that sort of death. 2. Herring has no interest in "comprehensive answers" to gun deaths or any of the other serious social ills that plague our society. It's obvious from his never-ending, simple-minded and hate-filled posts and comments. |

You have some ideas on how to help curb the gun murdder rate, the same as I .but that's not a cure. You can't even get that much from the OP. So... "A" solution? There is no "A" solution, but there are many things we can do to cut the number of gun homicides. I haven't researched this, but my guess is that just about every firearm manufactured since the late 1800's has a serial number, so, a place to start is to require the registration of every firearm, and to require that every time a firearm changes hands, a paper or electronic trail is created or added to, just like the "title" on a motor vehicle, and that possession of an unregistered firearm after a date certain would be considered a serious felony. That would imply the closing of the gun show loophole, of course, and the loophole for "inherited" guns. There are many, many more actions that can be taken, of course, such as outlawing the manufacture or possession of magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, and the need to obtain a license to possess a firearm. |
