Default On Topic (sort of): Your (Space) Ship May Be Able To Travel Faster Than Light

This is interesting. Theoretical physicists think that it might be
possible to travel faster than light by warping the fabric of
space-time directly in front of, and behind, the space ship. Ships
are vaguely on topic, no?

Yes, yes, it's from Fox News and who knows. Interesting concept in
any event.

Is the ship the motor. I can see the motor's warping the space around

Hummmm, I bet Tim could build it...

Absolutely, and it would be reasonably priced and cheerfully
delivered. :-)

You never heard of a warp drive before? Where have you been?

===

Of course, everyone's heard of warp drive. Up until recently however
it has been mostly science fiction with an emphasis on *fiction*. It
might still be fiction but at least a few people are thinking
seriously about it. That's news worthy don't you think?

There are several documented experiments involving a laser fired
through gaseous cesium (within a vacuum chamber)
that suggests that the beam emerges from the chamber before it
entered. I think a Russian physicist first demonstrated this.

I found a possible explanation. I understand some of it (interference
patterns) but not all the math.
