So, in order to get a $1.00 per gallon discount, you must spend

Gee, what a math whiz...

Just to add to the fun:

Every week, I spend the following at Giant on our indoor pets:

Petfood $ 30
Clean Litter $ 52

That's $82 a week x 4 weeks = $328. That's 328 of 1000 points.

Our last, and final, cat used to feed himself and he didn't crap or pee
in the house. His litter box went for months without being used.

Moles, chipmunks, baby rabbits and birds made up his diet. And the park
behind the house was his litter box.

How many cats do you have?
I'm guessing he has two? I spend about 1/2 that on food. I buy the
litter in bulk and it lasts forever.

Harry takes in strays when he's not busy being clever and articulate.
Nothing but the best for Harry's widdle puddy tats.

That's right, w'hine. We take in stray kitties and give them a decent
home, food, health care and affection. We also help human families who
are going through hard times.

I know *that* isn't the conservatrasher way to which your types adhere.

We who work for a living don't have a choice. We are forced to help
"human families who are going through hard times" including the losers
on welfare that do nothing but breed more children and hit the crack
pipe. The states pushing for drug testing of welfare recipients should
have no problem passing those laws or we have a bigger problem.

I was just curious. I have a 100 pound dog and he only eats about $15
a month in food, plus whatever he gets from our meat scraps. I spend
more on dog treats.
Every good deed gets a "cookie". The up side to that is he is getting
a lot more civilized. Not bad for a "3 time loser" at the pound.

Based on that, 200# of cats = over a dozen fat cats - if any of it were
true.

Well, he made it up If he really had bought all the stuff he said he
did, he would have known that half of it wasn't eligible, even more, he
wouldn't have gotten the discount he based the whole lie on in the first
place...

So, where's the issue? Surely no one is doubting that Harry and his lovely (in his words) bride
spend $1000 on food in 30 days!

How it works:

For every dollar you spend at Giant, you earn a point on your card. Earn 100 points, save 10¢/gallon
on gas. The more you shop, the more you save - you can redeem up to $2.20/gallon in a single fill
up.
Points Savings
100 10¢/gallon
200 20¢/gallon
300 30¢/gallon
...up to $2.20/gallon!

So, in order to get a $1.00 per gallon discount, you must spend $1000 to earn 1000 points.

Points are valid for 30 days.

Terms and Conditions

Fuel savings are limited to 35 gallons of fuel per vehicle per purchase, or limits placed on your
payment card by your financial institution, which may be lower. Total discount cannot exceed price
per gallon. Limit of 2,200 points may be redeemed with any fill up. Earned points are available for
redemption within 24 hours. Offers available at Giant or participating Shell locations. Giant
Rewards points earned at participating Giant locations only. Giant Gas Rewards not available in
Charlottesville, North Carolina. Only purchases made with your Giant card are eligible. Net purchase
excludes alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, pharmacy items, gift cards, milk, Metro passes and
any other purchase prohibited by law. Giant Gas Rewards points will expire 30 days from date of
issuance. Your date of purchase is day 1. Giant Rewards points available at the time of a gasoline
transaction will be redeemed. Visit your participating Giant stores for program details. Offer may
be modified or discontinued at any time without notice. Not valid where prohibited by law. All
trademarks are property of their respective owners.

So, in order to get a $1.00 per gallon discount, you must spend $1000 to earn 1000 points.

On first blush a thousand dollars a month for food seems high for a
family of two or four.
We spend about 400.00 a month for three but that doesn't include eating out.
neither one of us is great health and so don't feel too much like cooking.
A couple of burgers fries and drinks, at the low end is about 20.00.
Steak houses, the cheap ones and the like average about 38.00 for two.
Some prime locations are more like 42.00-45.00 for two. A nice steak
house or sea food, bugs and Tilipia, is all about they offer, now, is
45.00 plus. Better digs run up to 100.00 for two.
It is easy to spend over 100.00 per day and not pig out.
Traveling it is almost impossible to eat 3 meals for less than a hundred
per day.
we're navigating back to beans and taters and whatever we catch or the
occasional piece of chicken, or burger, roast, while at home.
I bet we spend, while home, well over a thousand a month.
We probably don't eat anywhere near as fine as most.
It looks like almost no one eats, at home, judging by the crowds, at any
food joint you can think about.
A couple of deep fryers, a grill and big freezers and you can make
several mints. It's all the same wherever you go or whatever you pay.
I bet not one of these places could cut up a potato or cook a pot, of beans.
