It's like I'm in the same movie over and over.

Let's pretend you produce something, like coffee pots. Suddenly you notice

$20 coffee pots last one year. "Americans" think the $20 coffee pot is
"cheaper.". You 1) Close you business and pan handle, or, 2) move your
production overseas. Multiply that times tens of thousands of products.
Suddenly your neighborhood looks like the U.S. does now.

It most likely does not cost him 20% less to produce the coffee pot than 10
years ago. And that production cost is only 20% of the sales price. So
20% less production cost, with 40% higher taxes, means the pot sells for

cost is cut 80%, Presidents previous to your hated Bush gave "Most favored

They cut the sales price 10% and you can not sell your American made pot.
You want fairness, make the same rules for them as do for us. You want to

China has lots of engineers in China. Lots are graduates of top American

Go spend a night in downtown Frankfurt, Paris, Munich, Amsterdam, see the

they are worthless). In the U.S. of 25 years ago it would be considered
government housing.

But it's better there, right?

Speaking of U.S. dollars, Philippine Banks almost never accept U.S. currency
exchange any more. To get Php you need to use an ATM or find a high rate

Intelligent input! I'm impressed! One minor point needs to be made.

So 20% less production cost, with 40% higher taxes, means the pot sells

"americans" believe that cost affects price; it does not. Buying red
Chinese junk or Asian autos does not make the price lower, it merely helps
to increase or yield a margin for the nasty corporations. Cost is 100%
unrelated to price, always, there are no exceptions.

Make it in China and the production
cost is cut 80%, Presidents previous to your hated Bush gave "Most favored

nation" status to China, and they get to ship here without any penalty.

Correct - more so, nearly every foreign company assembling products (Toyota,
Haier, STIHL, etc.) are foreign trade zones, eliminating all encumbrances to
imported materials and components, yet "Americans" think their Asian auto is
"made" in the U.S.

They cut the sales price 10% and you can not sell your American made pot.

The politicians tell the ignorant masses anything to get a vote - for 30
years foreign companies can ship to the U.S. but, in order of prohibition,

Ignorance is not bliss.

Productivity does not mean more output per manhour, it means more output

There's about as much chance of Kurtz being a captain of industry as
there is of me spending a weekend in a motel with Penelope Cruz and

I don't know what a "captain" is - I saw the U.S. demise beginning in the

2005.

You explained nothing about a viable solution. You just ranted about "taking
back" the country. Meaningless.

We're in a recession. They've happened before. The current administration is
doing all it can (anything less would be political suicide) to turn things
around. The Dems in Congress are doing _some_ of what's needed, e.g., the
last effort was today with the small business loan bill that Obama signed.
They aren't doing enough and are afraid of their own shadow for a couple of
reasons. One reason is that they're cowed by the frenetic ranting and
threats from the Reps/Teabaggers. Another is that they have been
historically (although inaccurately and incompletely) viewed as tax and
spendthrifts.

We need to continue along the path of economic reform. We need to
reintroduce and reinforce regulations that have been removed, gutted, or
ignored. We need to reduce the military budget in a responsible way (we
don't want to add to the unemployment roles by dumping a bunch of people on
the street), we need to continue to extricate ourselves from two wars, we
need to stop funding some of the European/Asian military bases, we need to
expand healthcare coverage, tax the top 2% more, reduce the size and scope
of the biggest banks, increase our infrastructure funding, and most
importantly stop listening and start ignoring blowhard naysayers and
fundamentalists.
