actually i agree with milton friedman; free trade, so the evidence
shows, raises standards of living EXCEPT when it becomes a race to the

you can't raise standards of living in the US by forcing us to pay
more for the things we buy. you increase standards by setting minimum
standards for living conditions in countries, similiar to setting free
trade conditions. that way you're not c ompeting by destroying living
standards

the fact is that the decrease in american living standards has
resulted in transfer of wealth from the middle class to the wealthy.
productiviity in this country INCREASED over the last decade but the
middle class got NONE of it

so while you're saying that americans should pay MORE for the things
we buy, the LOGICAL argument is that americans should b paid for the
things we produce. but we're not. the rich just keep sucking up all
the money for themselves

go ahead. continue to blame the middle class. it's a lolsing argument
