What better place to kill your spouse?

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Police say a 38-year-old woman is dead after her
42-year-old husband shot her at Calvary Lutheran Church on S. 330th
Street in Federal Way Wednesday shortly before 6 p.m.

According to Federal Way Police, the Lakewood couple was at the church
for a counseling session during which the husband shot his wife. He
reportedly fired his handgun several times at the victim.

The husband then called 911 and waited for police. He was taken into
custody without incident.

"It is something that doesn't occur that often," said police spokesman
Ray Bunk, "to have a suspect actually call and admit what happened."

The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center where she later
died.

Police blocked off the entire block around the church after the
shooting.

"It is a horrible thing to have happen anyplace, and unfortunately we
know who the person was and that makes it more difficult for people
who were here," said one woman who appears to be a member of church
leadership. "But it would be sad regardless if we knew the person."

No one else was hurt at the church at the time of the shooting.

Police are trying to determine a motive and if the shooting happened
during the counseling session or after.

The suspect and the victim have not yet been identified.

Ahh...the latest from your state's cesspool:

Gov. Sanford Accepts Fine in Ethics Case

Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina agreed Thursday to pay $74,000 to
settle charges that his personal travel and campaign spending violated
state ethics laws, but he continued to deny wrongdoing.

In November, the State Ethics Commission charged Mr. Sanford with 37
ethics violations, including spending taxpayer money on business-class
flights, using state aircraft for personal travel and spending campaign
funds for noncampaign expenses. The charges surfaced in the wake of his
confession last summer to an extramarital affair with a woman in Argentina.

Mr. Sanford will pay $2,000 per charge and avoid a hearing. But though
he chose not to contest the charges, he insisted he had been held to a
stricter and less fair standard than previous governors.

“It’s time to move on,” he said in a statement. “While I believe I would
be vindicated on all these matters if there were ever a full airing, the
people of South Carolina have moved on from all that unfolded last
summer, and this administration has moved on as well.”

Also on Thursday, a judge finalized the divorce of Mr. Sanford and his
wife, Jenny, on grounds of adultery, at her request. She moved out of
the Governor’s Mansion shortly after his affair became public and
released a memoir last month about the scandal called “Staying True.”The
two events on Thursday appeared to push the Sanfords close to the end of
a sequence of events that has overwhelmed state politics and derailed a
once-promising governor. Mr. Sanford’s term ends in January, and
legislators voted last fall against recommending his impeachment.

“This resolves it, as far as the ethics commission is concerned,” said
Herbert R. Hayden Jr., the commission’s executive director. “The
question was, Did he violate the law?” He added, “The commission felt
very confident that there was sufficient evidence to support a finding
of violations on every one of the counts.”

Maryland is the ultimate fly-over state. The 30 million gallons of
sewage they just dumped into their waterways and bay is a drop in the
bucket of the stench that makes up that state.

You and Harry seem to get your jollies attempting to ridicule the
religious beliefs of others. Why, I don't know. It surely can't be
conducive to good serenity, and I doubt it earns either of you much
respect, except from the other, of course.

Here are some quotes from The Man Himself, Obama:

Actually, I don't so much ridicule the religions of others so much as
the hypocrisy of those who claim to be religious. You claim, I believe,
to be a Roman Catholic, but your many "anti" statements, declarations
and comments here clearly indicate you do not follow the teachings of Jesus.

It's perfectly ok for Obama to talk about his religion in a personal
way. He seems to be following, as best as he can, the teaching of Jesus,
especially as they relate to many categories of humans you abhor.

You and most other right-wing pigs hide behind your religion. The only
outspokenly religious rightie around here who actually seems to follow
the teachings of his saviour, as best he can, is Tim.

Your constant requoting of those Obama religious quotes don't give you
cover, Herring. They just make you appear a bigger fool.
