country, high literacy and little immigration of unskilled masses. Also

very rich country. As despots have always needed a place to store their
money. Secrecy in banking and pay little or no interest.

Unless you just don't like your money, don't ever order 'Swiss Fondue'
in a Swiss restaurant. We made that mistake once. It's a beautiful
country to ride through, but northern Italy has the Dolomites which
are just as beautiful.

Actually there is reasonable fondue. Just have to know some locals to
steer
you. Raclatte is never cheap. But lots of labor with that dinner. Being

was on expense account and still did not think the fondue was that bad.
Other meals were. The other side of the Pyrenees in France is also
beautiful. Around Po and Lourdes is fantastic scenery. Actually all the
mountains on the Northern Italian border are great. My wife's Great
Grandmother was from Ticino provence of Switzerland. Which is about 20
miles from Lake Como. Steep canyon with large clear river running through
it.

The Moto Guzzi factory is in Mandello del Lario, which is on Lake
Como. Perhaps you're familiar with Splugen Pass. My wife became
semi-famous for being a female who rode her motorcycle over the pass.
It looked like a good shortcut. It scared me ****less.

Bodio is the village she left. Is in the Canyon the main train from
Switzerland travels through. I normally take trains in Europe and rent a
car for a day or 2 if needed.
