My mom, an RN, worked for the 2 docs who started the hospital system. She wanted to work in the shipyard and not the hospital as the shipyard workers made more money than nurses. |

My Dad worked in the Norfolk, VA yards (making Liberty Ships) until he got the call to go to the Pacific Theatre. They were already living in Calif when the war broke out, and had my brother before moving to Calif. |
