Maybe I'll get the Princecraft out for some wave surfing.

How high are you ASL. That makes the biggest difference in these
things. You can survive the wind but the water will get you.

My house is about 160 feet above sea level.
The hugh mature trees in the backyard scare me.

I bet they do, dummy. Just be happy you don't have "huge" trees!
That's odd, he named all of his trees "Hugh"?

Hugh trees were named for botanist Sir Dudley Hugh. A rare mutation of
the chestnut, the blight wiped them out and they are all but
forgotten.

WHooooooooosh~!

Yup.

I wonder if the "bike" was his imaginary motorcycle? That topic died
quickly but his history of lies likely contributed to that.

At The Atlanta Journal Constitution in Gingrey’s home state, writer
Jay Bookman takes issue with the increasing trend of Americans coming
to public meeting with deadly force in-tow.

“It is attempted intimidation,” he wrote. “It is an acknowledgment
that, lacking the intellectual firepower and ammunition to carry the
day, the person in question is prepared to try to settle the issue
using the kind of firepower and ammunition that any idiot can purchase
at a local gunshop.”

Bookman continues: “It also reflects a growing mindset among some that
the government just isn’t listening and thus must be made to listen,
one way or the other. There’s a fundamental childishness to that
attitude, a notion that equates listening to agreement. The person in
question is not prepared to accept the idea that having listened to
him, a majority of his fellow Americans might decide that he is wrong.
So he reserves the right to try to impose his view at the point of a
gun.”

I suspect that the president is much safer with people who are legally
carrying guns than with anyone else. In most states those who have guns
have passed back ground checks, so have been "validated".- Hide quoted

fine. it takes 25 years to get rid of guns? so what?

There are 200 year old guns out there, why would they go away in *25
years?

you saying we don't need gunsmiths? gee. i'll bet they're surprised at
that.

guns are mechanical. and they need service and repair. and spare
parts...

I have lots of guns, some older than both of us put together and none
of them have ever needed any more than cleaning.

None of this affects criminals. They don't use that much ammo. They
usually shoot people with the bullets that were in the gun when it was
stolen.

ah. stolen. from gun owners who are too irresponsible to control
access to their weapons

Like the cops and the US government?

really? when's the last time your average crook stole a cop's weapon?

The cops will sell them to you (even in the people's republic of
California.) I just saw a story there last week about how the
California government was going to start selling surplus and
confiscated guns to the public.
That still does not address the original point I made about military
guns, distributed throughout south and central America liberally in
the last 50 years that are still floating around.

You ignore the millions of military arms we (and the Soviets) *flooded
South America with in the various anti commie wars.
The guys bringing in the cocaine can just throw a few AKs and ARs on
the pile. The mere fact that the Mexicans are complaining about
"machine guns" takes the US out of the mix. We haven't made or
imported a legal machine gun for the civilian market since the Reagan
administration.

?? it's the easiest thing in the world to buy a machine gun. in
allentown, PA there's a guy who sells them, legally, out of his house
on 9th avenue. i've watched his 8 year daughter shoot a tommie gun...

Do you even have a clue about the amount of paperwork and
investigation that is involved with a BATF form 4 transfer of a NFA34
weapon?

cars have a use. guns dont

That is only because you don't believe in hunting and shooting sports.
There are probably as many people who don't believe in driving.-

really? i live in amish country. they're about the only folks who dont
drive

... and about half the population of New York City. There are lots of
people in big cities who don't own a car. I just left a friend in La
Jolla California, the ultimate driving state, who has never had a
driver's license.

Hey, if you can walk to Black's Beach, why the hell would you ever
need a car?
