They are a local delicacy, roasted, although a water bug, not a cockroach.

Finally got a break in the weather - for a while there, I thought I
was living in Seattle what with all rain and cloudy weather.

Got out the Celestron and did a little star gazing for a while. Nice
and peaceful, spotted some sats - general looking around.

Really nice night - even started seeing some lightning bugs which is a
first for this year.

It's been bad for a full week with moisture expected again until the first
of the week.
I haven't lifted a paintbrush since the 18th.

OK. That was a dumb post. Off topic, boring as hell, and just dumb.

Carry on...

Yes, but only if you've not been raised with your head solidly

I still marvel that you lasted 30 odd years as an officer in the US
Army...and then convinced someone that you were qualified to teach young
people.
That's one crazy place y'all live in.

I "marvel" that you fetch beer for your lazy ass son in a POS RAV4.

Get a life away from Harry's arse. Do a little study. Makes perfect sense
to anybody that served during the SEA affair.

Last night was cloudy here. A first for this year. I wish these clouds
would go back to Seattle. It's just boring sunshine every day and clear
clear nights every night. We sit out and watch for satellites and watch the
meteor showers. In the winter, it gets down in the teens. We have fixed up
a platform on our southwestern style house on the roof that has low walls.
We can lay in there in sleeping bags and have a clear shot of the sky.

Clouds depress me.

I first heard that term when I lived in the south. It referred to incest.

Now I've heard the phrase "Uglier than homemade sin" to reflect on
incest.

But :"hotter than..." had to deal with a play on words like "Homemade
Gin" which would be moonshine. And if a person has ever tasted
"moon" then they know what hot means. it burns all the way down and
makes your face feel like it's about to explode

So, "Hotter tan Homemade gin" = "Hotter than homemade sin".

Or,t hat's how I understood the phrase to mean....
