I ended up getting a Canon HF100 just before the trip and am very pleased with the video/optical quality. Now I need to learn something about editing. :-) Any recommendations? The camera I bought (a Samsung something or other) came with an editing program called Cyberlink DVD Suite. It was horrible. Couldn't figure out how to work it and their on-line tech service knew less than I did. I ended up buying Roxio Creator 2009 at the recommendation of someone who knew more about this stuff than I. I don't know how it compares to other packages, but at least I understand it and can use it. It has a pretty neat converter utility also. http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/cr.../overview.html Eisboch |
