Obama was his boss. The buck stops here. Or, at least it did for Bush.
Obama is different, huh?

He apologized and said it was a mistake. Bush never apologized or
admitted to a mistake in his 8 years.

WTF do Republicans care about scaring the **** out of a bunch of
liberals in NY anyway?

I'm sure most R's were relishing the thought.

This is great. When the "flyover" took place, the person or persons who
authorized it were not specifically identified. Their identity was a bit
hazy. The way the media presented it, it appeared to be a military
decision.

But now, the truth be known, the person was Louis Caldera, an Obama
appointee. Since 2001, Caldera has worked in higher education, first as a
vice chancellor for the California State University system and later as
president of the University of New Mexico. He is a tenured professor at the
University of New Mexico School of Law.

I am thinking his academic credentials are missing a few courses in common
sense. Worse, his resignation letter states that the "controversy"
surrounding his authorization of the fly-over prevents him from doing his
job.

The fact that he screwed up royally doesn't seem to occur to him.

Jesus, whatever serves your partisan purpose Richard. Will you be
joining Hannity in "Dijongate: Obama orders burger with foreign,
elitist mustard?"

Read the real facts and understand that Caldera was the fall guy for
the idiots at the Pentagon.

CBS in New York reports that the Pentagon knew its photo-op flyover
above Manhattan would raise “public concern” and frighten New Yorkers
but pulled off the stunt anyway. “Federal officials knew that sending
two fighter jets and Air Force One to buzz ground zero and Lady
Liberty might set off nightmarish fears of a 9/11 replay, but they
still ordered the photo-op kept secret from the public,” reports
Marcia Kramer WCBS TV.

In a memo obtained by the television station, “Federal Aviation
Administration’s James Johnston said the agency was aware of ‘the
possibility of public concern regarding DOD (Department of Defense)
aircraft flying at low altitudes’ in and around New York City. But
they demanded total secrecy from the NYPD, the Secret Service, the FBI
and even the mayor’s office and threatened federal sanctions if the
secret got out.”

“Did it show an insensitivity to the psychic wounds New York City has
after 9/11? Absolutely. No questions about it. It was quite
insensitive,” NYPD Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.

Obama was out of the loop and forced to engage in damage control. “It
was a mistake. It will never happen again,” he said. Obama has ordered
an internal review of Monday’s low-flying photo op over the Statue of
Liberty.

Clearly it was a mistake. The guy who's head rolled was likely the
least guilty, as is often the case.

It's common practice to make publicity photos available, been done
plenty of times before.

That the DOD wouldn't allow people to be notified should have
triggered the failsafe button somewhere along the chain of command but
it didn't.

And the poor schmuck who's balls got caught in the vice paid the
price.

Just like the poor schmucks who were guards at Abu Ghraib who did the
time instead of Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush.

Let's see, torture of prisoners vs. a flyover. Grasping at straws are
we?

Yadda yadda is right.

You know - I would never have thought it, but it's fun being on
offense instead of defense.

These guys are tearing their hair out - assuming they have any.
