I

don't know what has happened, suddenly my spot page will not load
properly, no map, just a list of points and I can't get them to give me
position.

Would you mind posting the URL again using tinyurl.com?

Cheers
Marty

Funny, but I was able to click the above link through its several
quotings just now.

This is the first I've tried tinyurl. try http://tinyurl.com/FlyingPigsPosition

Looks like maybe he's heading for Ocean City inlet?

How about Tom's Cove? I don't have a detailed chart, is it deep enough
there?

Belay that, just downloaded the chart, no where near enough water in
there!

Ocean City doesn't look to good either!

Where the hell is he going?

Seems odd that's he's backtracking like that. Why backtrack? If he wanted to
get to shore when he first changed course, Chesapeake Bay would have been
the logical choice.

Skip often makes unusual meandering course changes that make little
sense to onlookers. It's even possible that he is just killing time
until morning, because it would have been dark by the time he reached
the Chesapeake Bay and he doesn't want to attempt it at night.

Now that I look at what happened, and where he is now, I have
concluded that the backtracking represents Lydia's watch!

The SPOT page says "Done" but then takes a long time to show anything. Be
patient.

Seems to be something with my system,, Spot just refuses to load and
present a chart properly with Firefox, if I use Internet Exploder, it
works fine. Problably just another plot from Satan's spawn, aka, Bill
Gates/Microsoft Corp.

Could be, or maybe they broke something and being on that tack was the
best way to fix it?

Anyway, looks like he should be of Cape Hattaras late this afternoon or
early this evening..... what's the weather doing there. I guess I
shouldn't be so lazy and just go look it up myself.

SPOT was working great for me with Firefox, then inexplicably turned to
gobbledygook, tried shutting down the whole 'puter and restarting, no
luck. Works fine with Explorer..FM I guess.

You're obviously a novice sailor. No clue about weather patterns.

Just look at a satellite loop of the Eastern seaboard and you will note it's
all under the influence of a large high pressure area. The center of the
high pressure area seems to be located in the area of the Great Lakes. As
winds circulate clockwise with about a 15 degree anti-clockwise slant around
the center of a high this tells me that in Skippy's area the wind is NNW
veering to NNE as he gets further south and as the high moves off to the
east.

I hope this helps.
