(Garmin has given up with the 45 - no support - no update) That's odd. Garmin still has the latest update for my old GPS12CX (latest update 3/24/99) on their download page. I think the G45 was about the same vintage. Sorry, can't help. Anyhow, there's an FAQ he http://vancouver-webpages.com/peter/g45faq.txt And you can download the manual he http://tinyurl.com/z9owd And if you don't get an answer here, you might try asking over on sci.geo.satellite-nav Rick |

Garmin's early receivers like the 45 (and pre-version 3.5 12XLs) were not field-upgradable. I think the OP's 45 should, given time, fresh batteries, and a clear view of the sky, recover. (although I had an old Garmin 128 on my boat that can no longer find satellites - don't know if the problem is antenna or receiver, but it did work last fall...) -- Peter Bennett, VE7CEI peterbb4 (at) interchange.ubc.ca GPS and NMEA info: http://vancouver-webpages.com/peter Vancouver Power Squadron: http://vancouver.powersquadron.ca |
