Default Garmin Gpsmap 420 Software and Map

After palying only one day with this unit these are my Impressions:

a)The base maps is totally useless and totally impair the use of the
unit; would be much better to have a blank screen like that found on
olds Garmin 45.
b)The software is the most horrible thing I have seen up today,
everybody accustomed with the excellent Garmin software of units like
Map76, Map276C or map3205 etc, simply hate this software.
c)Note that this horrible software is basically the same you get on
the "new" much more expensive units from 4000 and 5000 series...
d)The fact that the unit only accepts the new, very expensive and
horrible, useless idiot Blue Chart G2 Vision, designed probaly by the
wife's of some powerboat owner, is a shame, how can anybody use this
thing?
e)The AIS software is ridiculous, compare it with the AIS support of
the Raymarine MFDs like C80 etc.. The maximum distance of the alarm is
2 nm the distance and the time intervals are arbitrary and no sense.
f)And the ridiculous Auto Guidance, Mariner eye 3D, the High
resolution Satellite Imagery is a shame, I simply do not believe what
Garmin is doing with their old very good software. Who is the guy
responsible for this change?

Pascal
