: Advice from anyone who has wondered the maze of FCC proces would be appreciated. Any idea on turn around time for these applications? Hmm...I show a Roger Long from Ft Dix, NJ: Call Sign RR00008224 Radio Service RR - Restricted Operator Status Active Auth Type Regular Dates Grant 09/13/2002 Expiration Effective 07/15/2005 Cancellation Licensee Information FRN 0007499270 Type Individual Licensee Name Long, Roger S 1211B Ash St. Ft. Dix, NJ 08640 FRC Data Oper. Class RR - Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit Endorsements COLEM It was granted back in 2002, but cancelled in 2005. Oddly, it says it's still active..???...Government, go figure. Roger Long in Holbrook, NE, had a business band license WHY273 but it's expired and he didn't renew.... Roger Long of Hampton, NJ, WB2VBN, is good until 2015, a General Class ham operator. He's had that call a long time...(c; Nope...Don't find any Roger Long in ME with a ship license or a Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit, either. I found lots neat licenses for your buds at Woods Hole: 1 EX10 WOODS HOLE MARTHAS VINEYARD & NANTUCKET STEAMSHIP AUTHORITY 0009155193 SE Expired 05/31/2006 2 EX11 WOODS HOLE, MARTHAS VINEYARD AND NANTUCK 0009155193 SE Active 08/31/2007 3 KAQP WOODS HOLE OCEANOGRAPHIC INSTITUTION 0003625803 SB Active 08/15/2016 4 KB83173 WOODS HOLE OCEANOGRAPHIC INSTITUTION 0003625803 IG Expired 11/07/2003 5 KCEJ Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution 0003625803 SB Active 06/18/2016 6 KD47120 WOODS HOLE OCEANOGRAPHIC INSTITUTION 0003625803 IG Terminated 01/18/2005 7 KRJ946 WOODS HOLE OCEANOGRAPHIC INSTITUTION 0003625803 IG Active 07/26/2011 8 KT5465 WOODS HOLE OCEANOGRAPHIC INSTITUTION 0003625803 MC Expired 11/03/1999 9 KXC713 WOODS HOLE OCEANOGRAPHIC INSTITUTION 0003625803 MC Active 12/17/2011 10 KXS269 WOODS HOLE BOAT SALES INC 0004900973 MC Expired 05/22/2002 Use KAQP, that's a nice call! Might shake 'em up if you use it calling some low bridge tender or small lock operator...heehee. "The Big KA! KAQP, Martha's Vineyard! FM 99.5!" Ok, ok, you can search for anyone's license by callsign, name, etc., on: http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsS...rchLicense.jsp Click on Ship to look for boats. Flying Pig, oddly, is WDD5855 and is licensed to Lydia, not Cap'n Skip. I KNEW she was the power and money behind this project....(c; Says her address is Green Cove Springs, FL. I thought they lived aboard....??? Hmm....I looked up Lionheart and see I need to remind Cap'n Geoffrey to change his address to avoid any embarrassment should the Radio Gestapo go looking for him in Marietta. He moved to a beautiful place on Hilton Head Island, recently. Nope, the only rrop I find is Roger S Long, RR00008224, from FT Dix, NJ. Dat chew? http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsS...licKey=2446829 Everything you need for that ship license and your rrop is on the ULS website: http://wireless.fcc.gov/uls/index.htm?job=home They do search the tax bureaucrats to make sure they don't give you a license if your taxes aren't paid up. You have to have an FRN before you can use the ULS to get your RROP...isn't that wonderful? My Restricted Radiotelephone Operators Permit dates back into the 1960's. The "callsign" perforated into it like your passport said 20J0121. It doesn't show up on any ULS database, and isn't in my records with my ham license, either. You'll probably have to get a new one...$$$$$$$ you know. I got it just for the hell of it back when I was a kid after getting 20W1956 for CB...(c; Larry -- |
