One of my female friends just built her SECOND house in Playa Del Hermosa
Jaco, Costa Rica. CR is very American-friendly. She used local
architects, builders, craftsmen for everything. Every drawer pull,
handle and handrail was made by local blacksmiths, by hand. It's
beautiful! Hermosa is CR's surfer paradise on the Pacific.

Not ONE pool.....two!...(c;

CR might be a great place to move to. Very little "government" standing
in your way, especially if you're doing something to improve Costa
Ricans.

Nice place. We loved Belize, but haven't been to CR.

Tennis anyone?

Oh, no, that's right, those balls could have anthrax or radio isotopes in
them.

"but we know very little about the 77 million U.S. boaters or the 13 million
recreational vessels that ply U.S. waters," Allen (US Coast Guard
Commandant) said."

Lets see now, 1 hour to check up on each of those 77 million potential
terrorists works out to 43,750 years worth of work if we assume 220 working
days in the year at 8 hours per day. Of course your government could hire
43, 750 new bureaucrats to cut it down to 1 year. Get ready for a tax
increase.

Here is the beginning of the end of boating as we know it in the US of

A.

If I leave the country and come back, any other way, I'm inspected by
border agents....plane, train, car....but not yacht. We leave Florida
and go 250 miles to catch the Gulf Stream. We drop out of the stream 90
miles S of Charleston and sail into Charleston Harbor. We are never
stopped, never questioned, never challenged...even by calling us on the
radio. CG can't find us if we're in trouble without our 406 EPIRB
lighting their way, so I know they haven't been tracking us on some
sophisticated satellite system the military runs or they could. When we
sail up the Charleston Jetties in the ship channel from sea, we never see
anyone! We could BE anyone. The boat has no positive identifying
markers of any kind. It says, "Lionheart - Atlanta, GA" across the stern
but we could have had that painted on her while they loaded her
thermonuclear device into the V-berth in (pick any port).

They really DO have a point. The Mexican border isn't anywhere NEAR as
open as the South Carolina Coast! Any boat from anywhere can come
ashore, even right up the main shipping channel into Charleston and NOONE
IS TRACKING THEM! NADA! There's no picket ships at the 3-mile limit, a
really ABSURD edge of the US waters, when it should be 200 miles and
HEAVILY defended from all intruders, foreign and domestic. I could set
off a hydrogen bomb in INTERNATIONAL waters 3-miles off NYC, out of the
jurisdiction of the US Gummit by its own stupidity and make the WTC
inside job look like a pittance! The crater from a BIG bomb is 5 miles
across....inland to New Jersey! How stupid is that?

The USA needs shoreline RADAR and SOSUS and must force EVERY vessel that
leaves/enters the 200 mile exclusion zone to be fully transponding
AIS....JUST LIKE THE AIRPLANES squawk IFF. Hell, you could dock the bomb
8 miles up the Ashley River in front of my house, and be 800 yards from
the main gate of the Charleston Air Force Base and NOONE WOULD KNOW OR
SEEM TO CARE YOU WERE THERE.

Of course, this assumes America is under attack from WITHOUT, which it
was not. America was attacked from WITHIN, by its own government. 9-11
wasn't the first time or the first hairbrained scenario to come from the
isolated Pentagon stupidity machine.....set to blow up bogus airliners
over Cuba to coerce Americans into a pre-emptive invasion against
Castro....remember? If W and the NeoCons had been in that seat, instead
of a dove Democrat, Cuba would be like Beirut, today.

This is one of those situations where we can remind the powers that be
that America's boaters can be part of solution, not just another
problem. We know our waters and fellow boaters better than any
Coastie can hope to attain. In all prior wars, we have been viewed as
allies, not enemies. To my way of thinking, the current "stay away"
policy makes sense and should be sufficient for all purposes.

Granted, this is a different war, and a different administration
(which seems to view ordinary citizens as a threat). I am hopeful
(but not confident) that liberty will not be seen as inconsistent with
security; it is shameful that we are being attacked for our liberties
and respond by taking them away. Perhaps if we can elect a few people
who are more interested in preserving our rights than in concentrating
power for the benefit of their friends, we will return to the country
that so many have admired and emulated for centuries (as opposed to
the current attitude, where our leaders are despised).

If the Coast Guard is willing to listen, I'm willing to help them come
up with policies that make sense. If they decide to track every day
sailor, the CG will no resources for the jobs that count.

What a stupid posting. You think the democrats are going to solve your
problems? You think these people care
about your liberties? Are you dumb or what.

Take a listen to Al Gore. He goes on and on about global warming. Then he
gets into a private jet to go and talk some more.

Or some of the liberal ideas about protecting you from yourself.

The liberal phonys such a Hilary, Al, Al Sharpton, etc will tax you off the
earth. And while you are living in a shack
they will tell you why it is so good for you and they had to do it for the
"Children".

I hate em all. The Repubs, the Democrats... all of them.

My basic philosophy.. Leave me the F alone.

Ameria was a great country. Not anymore. It is a cesspool.

The federal government which you want to give the liberals control of can't
even control the border between the US and
Mexico.

What are you going to do when there are more Mexicans living here than US,
US Citizens?

Take a listen to Al Gore. He goes on and on about global warming.
Then he gets into a private jet to go and talk some more.

Did you see his utility bills? He owns three or four houses. His primary
home in Nashville,TN has electricity bills enough to pay for twenty
average-size homes.
****ing fat hypocrite Democrat asshole! Getting rich from the new
religion of human-caused global warming while, if you believe his movie,
he personally is more damaging to the globe than twenty to thirty more
responsible average everyday human beings. And remember what this
asshole said about the President not too long ago. Talk about
pot-kettle-black . . . Boy, are we ever fortunate Gore lost the
election.

"(George Bush) betrayed this country! He played on our fears. He took
America on an ill-conceived foreign adventure dangerous to our troops,
an adventure preordained and planned before 9/11 ever took place!" -- Al
Gore

Or some of the liberal ideas about protecting you from yourself.

The liberal phonys such a Hilary, Al, Al Sharpton, etc will tax you
off the earth.

"Many of you are well enough off that...the tax cuts may have helped
you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably
going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take
things away from you on behalf of the common good." -- Hillary Clinton

And while you are living in a shack
they will tell you why it is so good for you and they had to do it for
the "Children".

All the while they talk about their great concern for the children, they
count on the fact most Americans have such a short memory they won't
remember children like those living with the Branch Davidians that Bill
Clinton and Janet Reno roasted alive. And they hope you don't recall the
midnight Gestapo raid that kidnapped
Ellian Gonzalez and forcibly returned him to Cuba.

I hate em all. The Repubs, the Democrats... all of them.

I don't hate them. I despise them for the socialists they are, and
lately, are openly bragging they are. I despise even more the ignorant
asshole voters who have their hands out thinking they are entitled to be
given something for nothing so they vote for the person who they think
will see to it they get the largest handout possible.

My basic philosophy.. Leave me the F alone.

You got that right!

Ameria was a great country. Not anymore. It is a cesspool.

The federal government which you want to give the liberals control of
can't even control the border between the US and Mexico.

What are you going to do when there are more Mexicans living here than
US, US Citizens?

It's all part of the socialist plan. A rich ruling elite patterned after
Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry etc. And a bunch of
peasants groveling at their feet. But the hypocrisy is what gets me.
They act like they are just so concerned about the "little guy" and the
planet and all the while there is only one thing they're really
concerned about and that is their selfish selves. They use stupid people
to further their agenda and the stupid people they use are way too
stupid to wake up and see how sorely they are being used. Take the
majority of African-Americans, for example, they vote Democrat election
after election while Democrats pay lip service to helping them out. Then
even while getting nothing for generations they keep on voting Democrat.
This is the kind of stupidity and greed the socialists count upon. Lie
and lie some more. Count on the fact that most voters are either too
stupid or too greedy to take offense.

There is one instance where everybody of sound mind agrees that Bush and
Cheney lied. That's Bush and Cheney said, during the 2004 presidential
campaign, that Kerry and Edwards were "worthy opponents". --Capt. Neal
