Default Physical conditioning for sailing

what do
the rest of you do to prepare yourself physically for sailing?

Steve Hayes

HI:

This is what ive been doing since 1995.

4 or 5 days each week:
Walk to track or gym takes 10 minutes.
Warm up... 15+ minutes. streach all sorts of muscles, pull ups, push
ups, sit ups, some yoga kinda stuff
Run for 40 minutes. Works out to be about 4 1/2 miles.
Walk back another 10 minutes.

But boats take another totaly set of muscles. It takes me about three
weeks at sea to really get in the grove if Ive been a land lubber for
a few months. BEst clue that I am out of sea shape is the scab on the
top of my head, brusied shins, cut or smashed fingers.

Im 53. 6'02" 198lbs and could stand to lose another 10 pounds says the
BMI. But i do love food.
Resting heart rate 55 bpm. BP

Why do i do this routeen? It makes me feel GREAT! Plus makes just
seems easer with no worries mate.
Dumb Bell Bob
