Boat Builders:
I am trying to work on starting a 19' sail boat. Plans are located at http://www.internetworkconsulting.net/pilgrim590. The plans call for a 2.5 fot beam that's 1.25" and 2.25" to ben bent 5cm over the 2.5 ft. How can this be acomplished? Shawn |

It can be done by steam bending, as long as you use a good bending wood like oak or ash. Starting with a longer piece (~4') will give you more leverage to make the bend and help insure that the bend is even along the length. You'll also need to build a form to bend around and have a supply of sturdy clamps on hand. |
