There are 231 cu inches in a gallon...so how much it weighs and how much room it takes up on a boat depends on the size of the tank it's stored in. Add the weight of the tank itself and 10% to the volume of the waste to arrive actual weight size of the tank. On average, adults use the toilet 5x/day...average output (including solids) per use: 6-8 liquid oz. Volume of flush water can vary from a quart or so to 1-2 gal/flush, depending on the type of toilet and user's flushing skills. So you can save a lot of volume by peeing straight overboard. Just watch the
wind! "Peggie Hall" wrote in message ... William R. Watt wrote: TF Jones uses an estimate of 7 lb of food and drink per person per day. The lee rail is a lot easier, and using it is also legal. I knew a young part owner of a C&C 25 who was so nervous or excited or something when out sailing his part of the boat that he would be at the lee rail every 10-15 minutes or so. Used to amuse the girls he took out sailing but didn't deter them at all. He worked with computers which might account for the restlessness. I'll design a pee pulpit into this boat. ![]() -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ William R Watt National Capital FreeNet Ottawa's free community network homepage: www.ncf.ca/~ag384/top.htm warning: non-freenet email must have "notspam" in subject or it's returned |

William, You can save water by peeing into the toilet tank. I guess, if I could squeeze in beside the sink and stand on a telephone book. Sounds like good training for small boat cruising. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ William R Watt National Capital FreeNet Ottawa's free community network homepage: www.ncf.ca/~ag384/top.htm warning: non-freenet email must have "notspam" in subject or it's returned |
