Oh... My 45-70 is not a pistol! It's a big, honkin', antique buffalo
rifle. When I shoot it, I put the stock against a tree so I don't
dislocate my shoulder! They do make handguns that will take these
cartridges, but holy cow, you'd need to be very careful of your
stance, and tape up your wrists!

Wussie. I've shot max loads in a 3" barreled Model 27 Smith, .44 mag.
And
I didn't tape my wrists. Couldn't keep the gun from rising up in my grip,
but it wasn't painful.

45-70 is a black powder cartridge, not made for high internal pressures,
so
it can't be loaded up like a .44mag. Not to mention that the antique guns
made for the cartridge wouldn't tolerate those sorts of high pressures.
Big
slug, but slow and with the trajectory of a bowling ball dropped off the
roof.

Max

Max, you are an idiot, in addition to not knowing anything about guns. I
use 500
grain cartridges, and everybody who actually knows anything about guns
knows
that the 45-70 rifle has an effective range of 2 miles or better.

Bwwwaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've been watching "Quigley Down Under," haven't ya.

A .22 LR has a range of two miles if you aim it 45 degrees above the
horizon, which is what you'd have to do with a 45-70.

Give us fact, Einstein--not urban myths. You can BS to the general public
all you want, but you'll not gain any quarter from experience arms owners.

You're talking about the 45-70 Goverment round?
Mark E. Williams

Amusing, isn't it.

Yeah, I bet.

In fact, you've almost certainly never owned or shot one. The barrels
are very heavy, the muzzle velocity is relatively low, and the recoil
not bad.

Bwhahahahahaha! One more thing on the long list of things Doug doesn't
know anything about, yet has lots to say.

Yeah. I'll bet he doesn't own Whitworth tools, either.

Bwwwaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He, like you, doesn't even know what they are. However, he CAN dock a 36 foot
motor boat IF he has a bow thruster to help him.

CWM

\He can even dock it without the bow thruster...and he does lknow much
more than you pretend he doesn't...

Well sure, that was fine for the kind of bars you frequented

We don't have any around here.

Now SF--that would be an entirely different story.

Ask someone from San Francisco. We don't have any gay bars around here,
AFAIK.

I'm impressed...

You, however are far more easily impressed.

CWM

No...nothing to be impressed about...docking a boat is docking a
boat...since you seem to think it's sucj a big deal to do, you must have
problems with it.
