Just to make it look shipshape. Force of habit too-there were no synthetic

If you cut a synthetic rope with a hot knife it is a simple matter to flange the end out a bit so even a common whipping, put on in seconds, will not be able to slip off the end. If you're cutting with a hot knife, why do you need the whipping? Scotty |
