Most rollovers are preceded by a loss of control, followed by lateral sliding combined with suspension pumping. Traction control, anti lock brakes and stability control all help a driver regain control BEFORE this happens. One reason testers defeat TC and ESC when possible is so they CAN get the chassis in the air to make the numbers. Do more research and get back to me. RB 35s5 NY |

As it is for all cars. But the Tribeca has a very good rating for an SUV and is rated as one of the safest cars of any type available. It's not only safe due to rollover resistance, it's also safe due to it's AWD system which is now legendary. It also has the highest safety rating for a crash. It just covers all the bases. The Sedona is rated even higher (It's bigger and heavier of course), though even the Sedona loses out to the AWD Subaru. A Corolla is a rollerskate. Most people barely consider it a "car." It tends not to roll. It is very economical, I'd call it a cheapskate. A good, expensive way to roll is to buy a Tribeca. Do they put escape hatches on the bottom of those things? Most people barely consider it a "car." I'm not most people. I don't even think it's safe to stand close to one. I wouldn't either. The last time I did a defective headlamp and axle flew out of it and hit me in the leg! This may be my last post here. I'm taking my Corolla a few blocks to the donut shop. ![]() SUV But it is a lousy SUV. Says who? The Tribeca has been quite successful for Subaru and it's really just a plush Outback VDC, which is also a very well regarded car. But it is not available as a car. It's not a true SUV either. It's essentially an Outback VDC with a more rigiditity and a extended rear. Is the Tribeca's AWD exclusively legendary or is AWD legendary or is Subaru AWD legendary? Both, but the Tribeca and VDC outback are the only versions that have ESC and Traction control integrated with the AWD. Plus it's more prone to crash, especially roll overs. It's less prone to rollovers than your Corolla or most cars as you well know by now. It's also more likely to protect it's passengers if it does crash. The Sedona isn't alone. The Sedona is the highest safety rated minivan period. That's for 2005 and now the 2006 exceeded the previous numbers which places it well ahead of the Honda and Toyota. Period. It tends not to roll. It is very economical, I'd call it a cheapskate. It's pretty hard to make any car roll, even a Suzuki. The Tribeca with it's ESC and TC is less likely to roll than a Corolla by a wide wide margin. For NYC the Tribeca may be considered an SUV.
It's really a boulevard car. Subaru makes some very good cars. Unfortunately, they have no model that has sold as many as Toyota has sold Corollas.
