Once, not long ago...I had a nice C&C 32, nicer than most of the other
boats from this group, but still quite dated. Now we own a much more
modern 35 footer, faster and nicer than all of the boats here!
But still more telling....these two photos....it's going very fast
indeed...

Actuially I'm living in Kew Gardens, which has a zero murder rate and 3
local parks. Thomas is about to benefit hugely from money made on our
Brooklyn house, which is now worth over a million dollars. And of
course the LIS is one of the cleanest sailing areas in the USA....far
more so than the Chesapeak for example.

Vito, your quality of life isn't even close to our level. Tonight we

You have a grat quality of life because you live in a large city. The
quality knocks on your front door. How would you survive in a rural setting
where everything is by your own hand?

Looking at the picture of your boat it looks like the mast is very far
forward given the hull form. Is your mast shorter than "normal"?

Bwahahahaha! That's for sure!! Smelling my neighbors cooking (and worse) and
listening to their bawling brats isn't "quality", it plain sucks. Same goes for
childish 'dress up' cocktail parties. Face it, anything within 250 miles of NYC
is a garbage dump - certainly no place for children. OTOH paying $million for a
tenement does impress me - with its stupidity. One could get a nice place for
that.

I choose to live in a fine antique farm house over 100 years old, with a history
and character, centered on several private acres backed up on 200 more. It's
not perfect - I can still see two of my neighbors' houses through the woods in
winter but it beats suburbia, let alone a city tenement. I can sit on my rear
deck and watch the deer, foxes, chucks, turkey and bears or even shoot one for
my supper should I choose. Of course you have wildlife too: rats, pigeons,
winos, addicts ....

We entertain almost every week when at home. SWMBO plays harp and piano expertly
and our friends play violin, dulcimer and other instruments so we have little
need to pay for entertainment. And fortunately we can afford homes large enough
to entertain in, obliviating any need for 'private parties' at public eateries.

If this idyllic life gets too pastoral, we take our motorhome from our driveway
for a trip to some national park, or with summer coming perhaps a weekend on our
boat or ride our H-D's out to California again and visit friends there. But
I'll prolly wait for fall when the leaves change in the Rockies to do the
latter. Spring is the time to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway end to end and enjoy
the mountain laurel altho I might miss that this year - gotta go to Florida and
look at some homes near Canaveral (Winter cold grows tiresome). Maybe sail down
this summer - you're right, the bay is almost as filthy as LIS. Tomorrow, I'll
drop off the Yamaha and Triumph at the shop for spring service then lunch at the
botanical garden to discuss history with some learned friends. Haven't decided
where to sup tonight, we enjoyed Mexican last night, Italian the night before at
rather nice restaurants, and corned beef and cabbage at home before that. I'd
make a Yankee pot roast myself but Yankees are so hard to clean. So perhaps
we'll go out for Indian or Chinese again ....

Nope, my quality of life isn't even close to yours, thank goodness. I feel
sorry for you and your kid .

You won't have him shooting animals, you'll let the butcher kill the animals

My good friend is a retired detective and in 22 years he never pulled
his gun. Instead in learned marshall arts and how to handle himself.
Most people won't learn how to handle themselves; they are lazy and
dumb. They get a gun because it makes them feel safe or 10 feet tall.
When I was a bouncer I never had to use a weapon. Guns are for sissy
girls period. BTW, I had 7 state medals in archery as a teenager in PA,
so I can appreciate the skill it takes to use a weapon properly. But I
don't need a weapon and if you ever learn to handle yourself, niether
would you.

Does being a passenger qualify as sailing?

Sure it does. You learn by watching at first and Thomas will help sail
the boat when he is able. He's already a boat owner. His 8 foot sailing
dink is in PA waiting for him.

When does he get to be a kid? Can a kid really appreciate that?

Oh, I guess being a kid excluded exposure to the arts!

I doubt you'll get him in the best NY private schools.

Doubt all you wish. We're moving in 18 months to a place where there's

No thanks. Church and God are instruments for the weak or evil minded
or both. Thomas will learn to think for himself, form his own ideas

It's spelled martial arts. My dad was a New York State Trooper in the 60's
in Nassau and Suffolk County, don't give me that line about police never
having to use a gun.

You never used your bow as a weapon, you shot at targets.

Bouncer, hahaha! Your size was your weapon. Intimidation doesn't always
work.

If you truly appreciated the skill required to handle a weapon, then you
would also appreciate weapons themselves. Instead, you rant against weapon
owners and condemn the weapons themselves. BUSTED!! !

No, you'll brainwash him with your own religion. You'll send him to a school
that will reinforce your brainwashing. You'll never expose him to or allow
him to participate in things that you disagree with. When will Thomas join
the NRA? Will you teach Thomas Republican values so he can decide for
himself which is better? No, you'll teach him liberal mythology. You'll
indoctrinate him into consumerism and consumption. His life will be overly
comfortable, he will never have contact with those much less fortunate than
him. You will isolate him in the "best" schools, which means the school will
be "exclusive". The school will exclude large portions of society by defacto
segregation of race, religion and economic status. He will then spend
decades trying to deprogram the faulty instruction set you gave him.

BUSTED!!!!

Best do some research.. there are several treatment plants within the
Halifax Regional Municipality [HRM] ... there is a contract awarded for
construction of 4 treatment plants for the outfalls to Halifax Harbour.
Halifax encompasses the entire county. Halifax Peninsula, Dartmouth, Bedford
and Spryfield all border Halifax Harbour proper. The Harbour is a deep
water, major commercial gateway and naval center. Nobody in their right mind
would sail near a city and refer to it as an enjoyable experience.

There is no mugger, not one anywhere, who would even think of taking me
on. Only victims get mugged, which means you have to have a victim
mentality. It has nothing to do with size or fighting ability either.
Like I said, people who carry or own a gun think they need one because
they're weak. I don't need a gun because I can take care of myself.

I didn't expect you to understand. In most cases you need two things
for a mugging.
1) The mugger
2) Someone who can be mugged.
If you carry yourself properly you cannot be mugged. Period. So why
carry a gun for something that won't happen?

type to start crying early, so who knows. One thing is for certain: I
could easily mug anyone in this group!

Only victims get mugged,[Duh!!!] which means you have to have a victim

I didn't expect you to understand. In most cases you need two things
for a mugging.
1) The mugger
2) Someone who can be mugged.

Absolute BRILLIANCE!!

If you carry yourself properly you cannot be mugged. Period. So why
carry a gun for something that won't happen?

If you mean by "carry yourself"... restricting your movement to peak
daylight hours.... security terminals at both departure and arrival
points..... maintain travel to within patrolled areas.... securing yourself
within a lockable enclosure during the night.... then you've proved you have
a victim's mentality. Much like a sheep!

No, Mooron, but have you ever heard of "Carry yourself" used in the
regard of a time and place? I can't find any reference for it in that
usage. Maybe you can point us to it. Here's yet another basic English
lesson for Mooron!

American Heritage Dictionary; Carried-Transitive
An act or demeanor exhibited by an individual. (He carried himself with
great confidence.)

Mooron, is there ANY way you can get that hook out of your silly mouth?

Shure... you ever hear of bringin' a knife to a gunfight? or maybe you think
you'll intimidate a mugger with a handgun by your 'gait'????
Bwahahahahahhaaa

I prefer... Mooron's Heritage Dictionary; Carried - Proactive
The act of packin' lethal force so I don't have to walk like you have a
pant-load clumped in your shorts to imitate a confident swagger.

Mooron, is there ANY way you can get that hook out of your silly mouth?

If there is a hook in my mouth... it's because I didn't remove it from the
last fish I pan fried..... don't fret Bob.... I file off the barbs and use
sufficient drag to keep you on the hook... :-P

Ahhh I get it Bubbles, you swagger down the street like John Wayne,
stareing down everyone you make eye contact with and then they all
slink back into thier darkened doorway......

More proof Mooron has no idea of how to carry himself, but then again
he thinks that's a TIME OF DAY!
And...Fish on!!!

Not to worry;

4) Bob looks like an escapee from a mental ward.

Bobsprit is really into masturbating because it's the only
way he can have sex with somebody he loves.

Chuck Norris hunts deer with a flying roundhouse kick, and
they fall to the ground already cleaned & cooked.

Actually, it's a 30 - and no it's not fast. There is no such thing as a fast
sailboat. We mainly use it to anchor out overnight, thus to let the waves rock
us to sleep. It suits that purpose.

As for colours, there is only one - yellow.

Depends on what you call fall. We usually go through Colorado, etc. in late
September after all the kids are off the streets. The quaking Aspen are pretty
albiet not as colorful as the hardwoods in the appalachians. Of course there
are some that prefer Central Park .... grin
