I don't use spell check for usenet posting.

A dress store owner ordered a shipment of evening gowns for his shop. When they
arrived, the poor man found there had been a mistake. Half the garments were
coats, 20 percent were children's sizes and 24 of the garments were both coats
and in sizes for children. There were only 99 of the evening dresses he had
ordered. How many had he ordered initially?

I can solve the puzzle. Can you?

In New York? yech.....

She is not sailing in NYC, Katy. She's sailing on Oneida Lake which is
considered by some to be the "Thumb" of the finger lakes. It's above
Syracuse.

Where did I say NYC? I said New York...it is a state after all, and
it is not someplace many would consider ideal for nekkid
sailing....probably as suitable for nekkid sailing as Lake
Michigan..which means NOT...

You said "yech", not "brrrr", so I naturally assumed you meant NYC. Your
reputation for mental acuity deficit preceeds you.

Please be sure to alert me if you ever post anything correct, coherent or
relevant.

My day would be spent in total correspondence with you. I think
not. There are far more interesting people to talk to here.

What is "total correspondence"?

I agree that you "think not"

There is nobody to talk to here, interesting or not. It's all written
correspondence. Are you hearing voices? Do they sound like Oprah?

There are plenty of people to talk to here. You obviously haven't
found anyone who will talk to you. maybe it's you need a new
mouthwash?

Yes, of course I can

Please solve the puzzle and post your answer.

Nope. You asked if I could. I said I can. The burden of proof is
now on your side. Your having a lot of difficulty with it, it seems.

He just has a lot of difficulty in general. Let's see, first he was BB
the sailor, then he was Rusty trying to be mistaken for Joe, who's a real
person, now he thinks he's being sophisticated by masquarading as
Scott's wife. Perhaps I missed a couple of his personalities in there
somewhere.

Okay. I guess this seems like proof that you can't solve the puzzle. You are

You have a rather stupid idea of what constitutes "proof."

But then, you're not much smarter about anything else.

Nope. Doesn't prove anything except that I am not going to give you
the answer to the puzzle.
