The third time I tried to leave, "Third time"??? What happened the first two times? They couldn't have offered you more money, because "money was never the issue".... or are you telling us porkies? The fact is that you grossly overestimated your worth. Your bluff was called, and you found yourself taking early retirement. Now you must live with the consequences! I told them there was no longer any way I would stay. yada....yada...yada... I was simply not interested in working for them any longer. They were not happy that I left. Shortly after I left, several other key executives also left. Does that have any bearing on *your* financial situation? It's pathetic that you need to take solace in the misfortune of your previous employer. If your retirement had gone according to plan, then you wouldn't be thinking about your old company.
