"Third time"??? What happened the first two times? They couldn't have
offered you more money, because "money was never the issue".... or are you
telling us porkies?

They were always piling on more money. That was never the problem or the
motivation to either stay or leave.

The fact is that you grossly overestimated your worth. Your bluff was
called, and you found yourself taking early retirement.

I didn't bluff. I didn't need to bluff.

Now you must live with the consequences!

YES!!!

I told them there was no
longer any way I would stay.

yada....yada...yada...

I was simply not interested in working for them any
longer. They were not happy that I left. Shortly after I left, several

other key
executives also left.

Does that have any bearing on *your* financial situation? It's pathetic
that you need to take solace in the misfortune of your previous employer.
If your retirement had gone according to plan, then you wouldn't be
thinking
about your old company.

Why do you keep going back to money? Is that all you can think of? My
financial
situation is more than fine. It always has been since I was born. If I was
a
low-brow, unemployable schmuck like yourself, it wouldn't have mattered a
bit as
far as my financial comfort. Meanwhile I was able to go out into the world
and
make my own fortune as well.

Must have been satisfying to show up those folks that kept telling you that
there was no future in being a men's room attendant.
