Oh, been to those too. The old one in St. Louis. VERY bad reputation.
Old guys there remember the torture and beatings and such.

Inmate? State Hospitals have patients, not inmates.

The one I was at in Indiana was privately owned.

One what?

Jack Nicholson, more specifically.

My grandmother and aunt did volunteer work as Grey Ladies for the Red Cross
at the State Psych hospital in Ypsi when I was a kid...I can remember them
coming home crying for their "ladies" They would go around to local
merchants asking for donations of cosmetics and toiletries and whatever else
they could get because those women had nothing..they made them take communal
showers and would dump patricide on them to keep the lice down...horrible...

Yet people currently protest the inhumane conditions and "torture" of
terrorists. If they were subjected to half that it would make global news!

I wonder how future generations will look on us for all the Ritilin

Thayt all happened in the 1950's....nowadays psychiatric patients,
especially in the states of MI, WI and MN are highly protected by heavily
enforced Mental Health Codes...

It wasn't that they did it...it was the way they did it...my grandmother
referred to it as the "sheep dip" day...there was very little humanity to
the process...

Half of those are products of parents that just do not know how to
discipline and of teachers that do not have any understanding about how boys
operate...
