up, is to add some scope .... haven't got a clue as to why, your

When the anchor fetches the line/chain will go taut and then
slowly slack off, but if it hasn't, it may go taut, slack, taut,
etc..

When heaving an anchor, once the anchor is aweigh, if your
chain/line is led over a roller, or through a hawse pipe, the
chain/line will wabble from the roller/HP, down.
