Your Boat Sucks If.....
Your boat sucks IF..... It's PHRF is over 100 on average It was Built before 1995 It doesn't have a genset and AC/Heating system It doesn't have 6'5 headroom or better It doesn't have new color radar and chartplotter You have to take out a loan to buy it. It doesn't come with a new dinghy and outboard It doesn't have forward looking sonar It doesn't have SSB, VHF and Sat Phone It doesn't have a seperate stall shower Does your boat qualify by meeting or exceeding these??? I employed Loco-Logic to create the list!!!! RB |

It doesn't have a seperate stall shower.
The real reason behind Boobs desire to move up. He can't fit in a normal head and take a shower. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" "Trains are a winter sport" |
It doesn't have a seperate stall shower.
The real reason behind Boobs desire to move up. He can't fit in a normal head and take a shower. few people over 6 feet can. Suzanne weighs 135 lbs and would rather use the sunshower. But a stall shower is the proper thing to have on a REAL modern boat. RB |

My mates new Benny has a bow thruster! Now Scotty Potty is all excited. RB |
"Bobsprit" wrote in message ... Your boat sucks IF..... It doesn't have SSB, VHF and Sat Phone You going sailing, huh? Bwahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! You don't need SSB or SatPhone until you are more than 1/2 mile from your marina.... a *lot* more. Regards Donal -- |
"Donal" wrote in message "Bobsprit" wrote in message Your boat sucks IF..... You going sailing, huh? Donal... it's obvious that Bob is dedicated to consuming as much of the fuel as possible that his commander in chief is liberating in Irag. He'll be motoring as usual...95% of the time. The vessel will need a diesel genset to power all that stuff when he decides to actually sail it. While plugged in shoreside Bob will effectively destroy his much proclaimed energy efficency. It's sad... truly sad.... CM |

Wooooooooooo.... Bob!! Back to dissin' Scotty?
I'll just sit here on this fence ..... smoke a blunt.... and watch while Scotty slaps you around the ASA Corral! Again! :-D CM "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... "DD730" wrote in message I smoked blunts for 33 years, usually several times a day. I've done likewise... not as much. I stopped last March and haven't had once since. I stop regularly for months. Never miss it.... same as drinking. A buddy quit smoking and couldn't justify skankin' back a spliff... he makes a weekly batch of brownies now. Great on a fishin' trip. Did you know that keel boats heel? Heh!... you're talkin' to a crab crusher owner that has had my mast slap the water both port & starboard within 30 seconds. Seems though from my experience... the slower reaction time experienced on a solid full keel cruiser, dampens the feeling of being overwhelmed in a strong breeze. I've had the rail in the water on numerous occaions..... CM |
Siedlemann 30 - Horrible cheaply built boat
Gee, but it's only 3 seconds a mile slower than your bigger "not horrible" boat. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" "Trains are a winter sport" |

I do not need new, I have the best buildt. A lot of times brand new boats have much less to offer than 2nd hand ones. Are all your thruhulls Monel? Nope, not needed or desirable... except on a metal hulles boat, maybe. standard on submarines. All mine are as well as the rudder post, shoe, and board pin and supports. Full Keel w board? What's desirable about a full keel w- board? Worst of both worlds... slow, can't point, poor handling, ballast not as low... Draft from 4.5ft to 11ft? 4.5' ?? Too deep. For ponds maybe Charts? Umm, yeah. Probably some people go sailing without charts, but I'm not one of them. Me neither. I rather have a chart then any electronic gadget. 300 gal fuel? 1100 mile min range Phooey. 450 gal and we can go 1800 miles. Pay attention Doug. I said MIN 1100 miles. Thats moter only no wind. Most likely I can go 3 times that distance if I have any wind. 175 gal water? Watermaker? Not yet. Will get one before heading out into the Pacific. 100HP main? 135... not that we really need it. The boat would be better off IMHO with 90 HP. Deisel Gen? yep. 55 ft main mast? nope. But it's a plus IMHO, we can go under 14' air draft. Tougboat Mizzen mast? Nope.. but I could put one on if we wanted... Might be handy DSK Joe |
Bow thrusters on anything under a 200 footer is for people that have
no clue how to handle a boat. Joe, it amazing that you could be so uneducated about boats. There are areas where currents, winds and unique docking conditions make a bow thruster a required item on mid size to large yachts. RB |

Nutsy,
A stall shower on a sail boat is a damn waste of space and fresh water supply! It is a REAL description of what kind of sailor you really are. A real shore power sailor. SSB radio? Why? To listen to sailors who are out to sea? A Cellular Phone? To tell Susy what time you'll be home for supper. (g) Ole Thom |
BB,
The only shower you need is for Nutsy to rinse his lying mouth. Ole Thom |

It comes with the boat. Should I throw it away? RB |

Now where on the East or West Coast of the Continental US is there an area without cellular service?? Okay I can readily see a Sat Phone for an ocean crossing... those you can lease.
