Bought one almost a year ago then another this summer when we thought we
lost it. Found the lost one right after we bought the other, it had rolled
under the back seat of my Aztec. I found it when I was trading in the Aztec
for a Pilatus.

You'll love that Nikon 8800. My wife and I each have one and they're
fantastic. You can actually take "instantaneous" pictures with them,

unlike
lesser digital cameras.

Hey, Gilly...
When did you get the 8800? I'm also thinking about the D70 SLR, but I'd

end up
spending 2K after buying a long zoom. The 8800 seems like a great camera

and
they are now under 1K.

The 8800 was released mid summer internationaly. The 8700 was the only Ultra
Zoom 8 MP camera avilable before then.

The correct spelling is "internationally". When did Nikon start producing
the 8800?

On shelves only recently. A year ago there was only the 8700. The 8800 was only
reviewed recently.
The Nikon Coolpix 8800 will be available at retail in Fall 2004 at an MSRP
of $999.95.

Sorry, Gilly. If you bought two, you had em' before even nikon!

Well then, it must be the 8700. Mine is at the other house so I can't check
the model number. If what you say is true, then it's the 8700 as one was
bought before Christmas. Is the 8800 much better? At an MSRP of 999.95, I'd
recommend you buy two also. Keep one on the boat.
