Default One reason to appreciate a wing keel

I don't get it. Please explain what a grounded boat tied to pilings has
to do with a wing keel? We do that all the time to scrub the bottom.

Yeah, you have tides, published data, we have seiches, wind driven, and they
can raise the water level dramatically in a short period of time. They tend
to be more dramatic at the beginning and end of the season, which correspond
generally with the annual high and low water level levels of the Lakes.
