But you said everyone you talked to said they were ugly as if you were showing them weekly. Then you said no one you talked to has ever seen one. Then you said ............................ S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" "Trains are a winter sport" |

It's really nicely done. A well liked feature of many 80's C&Cs.
I've seen plenty of C&Cs and I've never seen a pile of steel handholds bolted to everything down below. And by the way your tub is a seventies design. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" "Trains are a winter sport" |

I've seen plenty of C&Cs and I've never seen a pile of steel handholds bolted
to everything down below. Like I said, you don't know boats. The feature appears on the 32, 33, 37, 38 from the mid 80s. RB |

I'd keep that to myself. Why? It's worth more than your home and it's paid for. RB |

Catalina survived. So did Hunter, and McGergor. Are you saying they're
better boat than your C&C? Cataline and Hunter were tuned into making boats that people wanted. Companies like C&C and Express failed to do the same. Still, it was a massive fire that finished C&C for good. Express failed outright because the boats were just not that appealing. RB |

But you said everyone you talked to said they were ugly as if you were showing them weekly. Everyone who's seen one did say they were ugly. Most folks haven't even heard of the company. Can you see that these two facts are independent? Guess not. RB |

I've seen plenty of C&Cs and I've never seen a pile of steel handholds bolted
to everything down below. Let's show everyone that you know little about boats! See pic below: Note the handholds at the corners of the table, the hutch next to radar, even aft built into the hanging locker. They are also at the galley. http://hometown.aol.com/bobsprit/images/int23.jpg And here are the same ones aboard a C&C 37!!! http://newimages.yachtworld.com/1/1/7/8/5/1178559_3.jpg And on a 38... http://newimages.yachtworld.com/1/1/4/1/3/1141306_2.jpg Oops!!! On the C&C 35!!! http://newimages.yachtworld.com/1/2/9/8/3/1298389_6.jpg Yeah, Loco. You REALLY know your C&Cs!!!! Exposed Idiot!!! HAHAHA! RB |

Massive fire....Bwaaahahahahahahaahahahahhaaaa!
So easy to do with a hot resin and nothing suspicious. Nice try, Ozzy, but you might try knowing what you're talking about from time to time. C&C didn't recover even half of the insurance and they did try to restart. Here are the facts.. In 1989, Brian was forced out of C&C by the main share holder of the limited partnership and replaced by Bob Stubing. Bob’s intial thinking was to close the company down, but after becoming enamored with the industry, he tried to keep it going. Unfortunately, by the middle of 1990, bank pressures forced the close of C&C. After 14 months, C&C was finally sold to Anthony Koo and Frank Chow of Wa Kwang Shipping, which was at one time the fifth largest shipping company in the world. The new company, C&C Yachts International, started out with grand plans. In no time, they had production of a 51 and an IMS 45, including an endorsement from Dennis Conner. By 1994, things had turned around so much that the plant had trouble keeping up with sales. In addition, C&C Yachts International acquired SR sailboats of Florida, a line of sport boats that proved to be fierce competitors in racing. In April of 1994, C&C was devastated by a fire that destroyed 40 molds, three 51 boats that were in production, the factory, the boat building records, plans, etc. They tried to recover, but ultimately failed. Insurance only paid a portion of the total loss, and C&C tried to resume production, only to find the recovery cost was too much and closed the factory in August 1996. RB RB |
