Hey Donal. If it's OK for you to dump butts on the beach because
they're biodegradable (in geological time...) I assume you have no
probs with people taking a dump on the beaches if they feel like it? If
not, why not?

Peter, you came in late. The definitive response was Capt
Neal's, which you will find (text) on
http://www.ace.net.au/schooner/asapo.htm#catfish or set to music
at http://music.download.com/internetopera . Look for "catfish
Row" in both cases.

Very good, I did miss that.

Mind you I still can't see why Donal finds it so difficult to take used
butts away with him when he had no problem carrying the cigarettes to
wherever in the first place. One possible reason is that the fresh
butts, with their concentrations of tar, are so stinking and disgusting
that he doesn't want to smell them and prefers to ignore the fag ends
of his addiction.

A real smoker would just smoke roll-yer-owns sans filters, take the tar
& nicotine hit straight and strip the butts (which do break down fast).
Filtered smokes are for people who want to pretend that the crap isn't
getting through to their lungs while smoking more to get the hit they
need.

Perhaps smokers need a pet of some description to serve the same
purpose as Neal's catfish. An undiscriminating dog may serve.
