While Scotty tried to fix his outhouse, 6 of us took Alien out for

a
very
nice
sail. It was raining or misting or a combo of both for most of the

time.
The
girls stayed dry under the dodger, handed out the hot chocolate

and
had
a
good
time. It was actually very nice sailing, light but steady air

around
8-10
knots. Fog rolled in later and the drizzle started to add some

chill,
but
it
was all worth it. There were only about 10 boats out in the area.
Visibility
was too poor to see if more were sailing. I like the rainy sails

because
I'm
usually less tired than on the days where the sun bakes us. 7 out

of
10
stars
for a daysail!

Some of the boats that were out were interesting...This is at the
entrance
to
Manhasset bay just after setting out....

Next tackle will be the banning of plastic shopping bags.

Ours decompose...I euse the things until they aren't reusable anymore...they
must be of a more degradable material....I'm all for banning the plastic
thingies that go around canned soft drinks and canned beer...things not only
don't degrade, but they strangle animals...I try to always cut them up if I
buy anything that uses them....

\\

How true. i caught a red snapper once that had grown around a rubber O
ring.
Just about every day I have to walk the marina and pick up dis-carded
fishing line and hooks. Now when I see anyone fishing here I tell them
to get the hell out our Im calling the cops. A few lazy SOB's screw it
up for everyone.

Well, that, plus most guys move the bush out of the way. It's
one of the good things about having opposable thumbs.

Several members of this group do not have opposable thumbs.
