Cig. butts are nothing but some tobaco fragments and a little paper (wood) Natural stuff that will decompose and be gone in a week. Umm, no. Actually the filter part of cigarrette butts is fiberglass that will not decompose for years, and the "paper" is plasticized to the point where it will also not degrade easily either. ... Some people should give it a rest. Some people (many, actually) should wake up. DSK |

Ahhh, if that were only true, but most smokers use filter-tipped cigarettes and those gawd damn filters are forever. So there's the answer - ban the filters! As Loco says, the rest is biodegradable. |

The girls stayed dry under the dodger, handed out the hot chocolate and had a good time. It was actually very nice sailing, light but steady air around 8-10 knots. Fog rolled in later and the drizzle started to add some chill, but it was all worth it. There were only about 10 boats out in the area. Visibility was too poor to see if more were sailing. I like the rainy sails because I'm usually less tired than on the days where the sun bakes us. 7 out of 10 stars for a daysail!
