Default Marina Woes

When
confronted about mistakes, or poor quality workmanship, they would laugh it
off and refuse to make good. If they didn't feel like performing some type
of work they would quote an exorbitant figure to make you go elsewhere. And
when sailing is supposed to be your "release" from the rest of the daily
crud, who needs problems there?

I hear a lot of stories like that. I'm glad that my yard is run by people who
care and having a slip expands the use and care of the boat. This weekend I'm
taking out some elderly folk. I'm lucky to have a slip.

The problem with most marinas is that the owner runs the place as if it were a
club and your lucky to belong. Slip holders are paying customers and they
should remember that. These same people wouldn't put up with the crap that's
dished out at any other business they deal with.

Hate to agree with Loco, but he's right. Many Marina's act like you're an
unwanted guest...AFTER they take your money.
