That's true. I'll list the good channels. History, Discovery, National
Geo., uuuhhhh, Weather Channel, some sports if you are interested in

those
particular sports, OLN, Travel, I'm running out of ideas here . . . . .the
occasional movie. . . . I'm sure I missed a few but you get the idea.

We don't get any of them at sea. I found out I don't miss them at all. I
have to admit while I'm staying in the motel before flying out I am

watching
some of the classic movies so that channel makes the list and to be
perfectly honest Tommy Lee Jones in Volcano is on even as we type!

But my original statment stands. TV is primarily geared for entertainment
for mindless people and that includes the bulk of the new programs. Plus

I
freakin' despise the ads because of the volume changes.

I tried one of these 'divorced from reality' shows. Is this a joke or

what?
BOOOOORRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGG but definitely for mindless idiots.

With radio be it the NPR variety or the talk radio variety you have to
think. The only shortcoming to radio (and I'm leaving out the music
channels of course) is the senseless talk fast whatever it is at the end

of
the ads. What are they trying to cover up? All that garbage tells me
there's a catch or it's just a scam to begin with.

Back to TV. Where can you find the greatest use of plastic in the world?
Behind any TV anchor desk regardless of sex.

I'm not a snob about such things. With rare exceptions such as those

noted
above I actively dislike the boob tube. Which brings us back to the use of
plastic.

Mike, don't be a TV snob. There are lots , well, several good programs

and
movies on TV. Just last night I watched a show about the CG and pilots

on
the Columbia bar.

I guess you missed the reference. Do a google on it.

No. It will be carried in the new major media. Talk Radio. TV is for

those
who can't think for themselves.

Could be, but he is to the Democrats as Buchanan was to the

Perotistas.
It
matters not what you think of him. It only matters to those few, very

few,
who hold the balance of power in their voting hands. The percentage

of
difference between Democrats and Republicans is so miniscule that it

takes
only a few like Nadar, or the Libertarians to push the winds of change

one
way or another. It matters not what you think of Nader, or any of the

other
small political parties. The realpolitik is they, and not you, and

not
the
Republicans hold the balance of power in their hands. The answer, my

friend
Jonathan, is truly blowing in the wind. It's not 'come the

revolution'
anymore. It's here.

(Damn I'm good when I get going. . . . . . . ..) One day you all will

But they aren't willing to make a coalition. They did say there

WHY
wouldn't those issues be raised unless he runs? Hmmmmmm. They

also
bluntly
said they don't want his legacy to be one of re-electing Bush.

But
they
are
stopping short of anything meaningful. Course when Kerry takes

over
the
party that could change. Remember his campaign theme song

"Seasons
Change
and So do I, You need not wonder why. I've no time left for

you."

Remember the Greens destroyed Gore in ultra liberal Oregon and

became
a
registered major party as a result. What they did there they can

do
elsewhere.

Um, Nader was more or less booted by the Green Party. They said

they
would
let
him run if he promised to only get on the ballot in states where

the
democratic
candidate would not be in danger if there was a spoiler on the

ballot.
Egomaniacal Nitwit Nadir wouldn't agree to that condition, so they

told
him to
go away.

My guess is that if he becomes a candidate, someone will back over

him
20
or 30
times in a Corvair to put an end to his nonsense.

If you didn't wait until the last minute to get involved, you might help

Whose been waiting. I do this 24/7/365 for decades. Beats waiting for
Carville or his counterpart at RNC to give you your marching orders. Not
like you all have a real choice is it? Vote for this elitist gazillionaire
or for that elitist gazillionaire. What real choice doyou have? You will
be told to vote for Bush or vote for Kerrey. Thats ALL the choice you get.
Never mind why? Just do what you are told and 'shut up'. What kind of
democracy is THAT? By the way that's a small 'd'. You do not live in a
Democracy, it's never been one, never will be one.

Come to think of it if given the earlier choice between George and George
who would you have chosen?

I guess that irrelevent red herring swam right by me. Was it supposed to be
germane to the discussion, or just easier than thinking up as real answer?

Oh well . . . .

Clearly you spend all your time wailing, gnashing your teeth, and wringing

your
hands, and none doing anything constructive about the situation. You have

made a
decision to be a passenger.

You must be in this world, but be not a part of it.

Not at all. It makes you a person who cares enough to go out and vote.
If more people did, things would be different.
