Seeing the future or what?
According to this mornings news Nadar is running. DNC is running scared.
But they aren't willing to make a coalition. They did say there are some
issues that Nadar could raise that wouldn't otherwise be raised. WHY
wouldn't those issues be raised unless he runs? Hmmmmmm. They also bluntly
said they don't want his legacy to be one of re-electing Bush. But they are
stopping short of anything meaningful. Course when Kerry takes over the
party that could change. Remember his campaign theme song "Seasons Change
and So do I, You need not wonder why. I've no time left for you."
Remember the Greens destroyed Gore in ultra liberal Oregon and became a
registered major party as a result. What they did there they can do
elsewhere.
The Libertarians destroyed Republicans in neighboring Washington and became
a registered major party as a result. What they did there they can do
elsewhere.
Looks like we may get a two party if not multi party system after all
instead of the two sided one party system we have now.
You heard the prediction first here . . .I'll repeat it. The Democrats
won't coalesce with the Greens. Instead they'll offer sops and demand the
Greens come to them. If the Democrats put Green demands verbatim in their
party platform they will lose more than they gain. The Greens won't settle
for a partial loaf. But the Greens will make major party status in a few
more states as a result figuring they are better off treating 2004 as a
'team building' year.
The Republicans will offer the Libertarians a meaningful role in a coalition
and put some of, but not all the Libertarian goals in their party platform.
The Libertarians having shown they can effect real change will gain in a
meaningful way and 2004 will be a team building year. They will elect
people locally and make gains nationally because they realize part of the
loaf is a huge gain compared to none of the loaf.
In future the Republicans have only to keep their deal with the Libs to keep
their support in a majority coalition.
The Democrats . . . . ? Will lose seats at every level and wonder why?
Change that. Seasons Change . . don't wonder why.
The face of politics is a-changing . . . . bout time.
