My boat was pulled this week. She sits on a custom made steel cradle. Is
there any merit to a seperate boat stand underneath the engine area? Scott Vernon Plowville PA __/)__/)__ |

Unless the hull looks distorted or saggy in that area, and you noticed that accelerating, decelerating, and steering were kind of 'mushy' under power, then the hull structure is plenty rigid to hold the weight of the engine. It's a good thought though. DSK |

Good lord. It's a boat Doug not a rubber toy! Cheers MC |

I don't do trolls. I seem to recall some articles where they mentioned
putting stands under the engine area. Scotty "Joe" wrote in message om... "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... My boat was pulled this week. She sits on a custom made steel cradle. I've never noticed any special supports under the engine area. Unless you have a specific reason for concern, then I think that you should forget about it. Of course, if you *are* worried, then you could get a piece of 4 x 2, cut it to length, and wedge it in. Regards Donal -- |

Not worried, just trying to think of some 'boat stuff' to do.
BTW, we don't have 4 X 2 s here in the states. Scotty "Donal" wrote in message ... "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... I don't do trolls. Cant hurt giving a bit of support in the area. Just
don't overdo it by cranking on them till the hull dimples. S.Simon "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... I don't do trolls. You should see the nightmares in the shipyard here now, some wood boats that have dimples that would make you cry if you owned the boats. I understand wood will move back to shape some what, but these are ridiciloius. Joe You would never see a stand induced dimple on a steel boat. "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... I don't do trolls.
