I'm not sure of that "record," but I think most informed observers would agree
that Jesus probably did exist, that he was a Rabbi, and that he was crucified. The issue at doubt is his divinity. As for his name, it was rather common, and by Jewish tradition he had no last name. He would either be known as "... son of ..." or identified by his town. And by definition, religion, or perhaps I should say "faith", is irrational. "Simple Simon" wrote in message ... A man named Jesus is on historical record as having been crucified. If I remember the record correctly there were two other men crucified at the same time. The other two dead men were no more Gods than Jesus was. What was Jesus' last name anyway? Did he even have a last name? Funny how everybody else in those days seems to have had a last name. Maybe religious legends don't need a last name? Maybe religions are irrational? Yes, that's it. How one group of religious nuts can claim with absolute surety theirs is the only TRUE religion should tell any sane man that NONE of them are right! S.Simon "Donal" wrote in message ... "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... Jesus? Don't you mean Easter Bunny? There is NO Jesus, dummy. Jesus is a matter of historical fact! There is NO hard evidence that Jesus ever existed. Not even a fossil record. Bob, You're an idiot. Jesus Christ existed. He was crucified. Believe it or not, these facts are a matter of record. You live in a very young country. Perhaps you, mistakenly, think that records do not exist from the year 30AD. In fact, they do. There is *NO* doubt about the existence of Jesus. NONE whatsoever! The Romans were great beaurocrats. They kept written records of all public events. Both the Birth, and the Cruifixion of Christ are documented facts. You may well derive some personal gratification from the denunciation of Christ, but that is something that you will answer for. Christ existed. That's an Historical fact. Bush is a liar. That is also a fact! Regards Donal -- |

I don't think blister boats were made 2000 years ago. Mind you there was
the Dead sea raft manufacturing company that made some reed baoats that sank in fresh water. Family records show my distant relatives acted as expert witnesses... He'd just wave his hands over and say the magic word.

Nutsy,
I damn well DON'T Know? Do You? They say they CAN prove Christ was killed by the Romans yet they can't even tell themselves what date that was. It is a different Date each year. They also don't know when he was born! Constantan declared Dec 25th, when he was still a Pagan. Constantan believed he was the rebirth of Mithra, Who was a virgin birth, who was resurrected a thousand year before Jesus and his birth was with the return of the sun (By the calendar of the day then) That was when he declared Christ was born. Constantan was a Sun worshipper This was 300 years after Jesus' death. Makes you wonder about the shining Star, doesn't it? No Nutsy, I don't know if Jesus was who the religious people say he was. That person was created some 300 years after the death of a Rabbi named Jesus, who was born a Jew, Lived a taught the Jewish religion, and died a Jew. He never, ever saw a Christian Church or taught anything but the Jewish Faith. Who knows what happens after death. I can't be worried about it and I'm getting pretty damn close to the time!!! I have to accept that a force (God) Granted me life at birth and also granted me death at the same time. We traveled thru life together step by step as friends. Death has always been within hailing distnce to bring me relief when ever life was no longer bareable. This I can believe and except. I'm at Peace with this. AND; "I'LL DRINK TO THAT!!!" Ole Thom P/S Nutsy, I don't believe Jesus was a fag, I believe Mary Magdelane was his push!! SO THERE! |
