remember 'Ol Yellow?
On my list of "Seen Once Never Want To See Again" movies along with = Beautiful Joe, The Biscuit Eater, Where the Red Fern Grows, Bambi, and = The Yearling. All great movies...once....I have unfortunately been on = the other side of the killing needle and putting down someone's pet is a = hard thing to do. We keep animals alive long past when they would have = naturally succumbed in the wild and sometimes prolong their agony by our = good intentions. Coming to mind are such actions as attaching a wagon = to the rear end of a dog so he can move his paralyzed back end = around....or have you ever watched a dog with degenerative hip dysplacia = gradually lose control of his back end only to go through surgery after = surgery to replace what wasn't there in the first place? The difference = between lower animals and ourselves is that we know why pain exists. We = can choose. An animal in the wild will gnaw off its' own limb if in = that much pain and then will die of the infection. Animals cannot = choose suicide...they just become so weak they become a part of the food = chain for others. Making an animal that is a pet go through pain like = that is unkind and unnatural. --=20 katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A.
