Now that's not funny. I drove out to Jacksboro, TX yesterday and was amazed
at the dead animals on the highway. In a hundred miles I counted 2 dead
skunks, 3 dead possums, 1 dead dog and 3 dead but unidentifiable.

Sorry, but anybody who's a friend of Mooron's is no friend of mine . . .

I got your dementia right here (as he grabs his crotch)!

You are taking out your frustration on Capt. Mooron.

Nothing personal, Neal... we could still be friends.

You didn't say how long it takes to sail from the Bahamas to Ft.
Lauderdale?

Then we're in complete agreement. I make no "promise" when I to buy a
cat to catch mice or a dog to bark intruders so if either fails to
perform then I shoot them with no more guilt than I'd have for killing a
cow, pig or rabbit. Similarly, if I breathed enough carbon monoxide
laden city air or did drugs til I become addle pated enough to seek a
cat or dog's companionship then all Ie promised to provide is a quick
death when I recover my sanity and my unnatural need ends - right? So
what are you sniveling about?

A couple I know went nuts when their kids flew the nest and bought dogs.
Shrink says THEY need something that needs them to survive. Jeeze they
even let them sleep on their bed! Can you imagine? They wouldn't let
their kids do that.

That's because inbred red-neck texans *try* to run them over. They have a
point system and everything.

Except for Bobsprit and BillyJane who are examples of a new species - homo homo.

Got news for you....even though we are sapient and have cognitive reasoning, we are animals. We are primates of the genus homo and

Who said I could not kill an animal for food? Your assumptions are totally
incorrect and naive as usual.

I can and do kill lobsters, fish, shrimp etc. for food. When I was a boy on the farm
I killed chickens and turkeys, helped with butchering pigs and cows and have no
regrets. A man's gotta eat. However a pet is a different story. A pet is part of the
family and a surrogate human by the obligation one assumes when one accepts a
pet into the family. This places the pet in a different realm than a farm animal and
one must treat the pet like one would treat a member of the family. Is this so hard
to understand. It's more a matter of obligations assumed at the outset and meeting
those obligations. Standards assumed are standards not to be tossed aside lightly.

Everyone should know what a steak really costs......

People don't wnat to know...they want to live their nice clean complacent lives where pain, dirt, sualor and misery never touch them
and reality is what you see on TV....
This society would be doomed if there ever was a cataclysmic event that took away all their toys and fureblows...truly only the
strong and able would be the survivors...Neal would perish since he would not be able to kill an animal to feed himself (yet he
merrily broils pork chops on his grill...never had a thought for the pig that donated that meat).

What's this 'put down' ****?

How people obfuscate! Using a sanitary term does not make putting down
any less than the act of killiing.

People kill; people die. People do not put down; people do not pass away!
Let's accept reality for once.

The very use of English shows the extremes people go to to deny acts
and consequences. This is sickness pure!

In other words, is three minutes of suffering for a dumb pet worth two
years of life for a human??

It costs $15.00 to put down a dog or cat. Or the price of a .22 shell (if you are able to do it...)
