Having a grand tied up in two BMWs sounds like fun. Buying two new BMWs
at modern prices is...stupid.

The BMW of beaters is, of course, a BMW. I bought a 57 Volvo for $100.
It had been painted flat black with a brush, and had a channel iron
front bumper. City busses backed down when they saw me coming. Good
cheap beaters are getting harder to find.

These days, a lot of beaters that would have been perfectly acceptable
transportation in the old days would never pass inspection in some days.

Doctrine"? How about the bill Obama says he will support that will
take away the freedom of a private vote for unions? How about Obamas
own words on banning guns. How about the "truth squad" he put in Ohio
to keep TV and radio stations from airing commercials "they" deem
unfit.. These are real issues, not insults.
