Oh, I'm doing fine.

Still tied to the slip, under tarp, in calm waters...

Speaking about being under the boat, someone had better go check on
JustWait.

You think he drank that can of used paint he bought at a garage sale,
and the boat passed out from the fumes and fell on him?

:)
I wouldn't say that, but the operation seemed a bit dangerous for one
person.
Believe it or not, this small province loses almost 30 people a year from
job site 'accidents'.

I've gotten the impression from Scotty's own comments that he isn't overly
concerned with his personal safety or that of his motorcycle-racing
daughter, or, that he has deluded himself into thinking kiddie motorcycle
racing is safe. I asked him a couple of times who these "professionals"
were he claimed attended the races. I don't believe he responded, which
makes me think they are NOT medical professionals.

People here tend to snerk and fluff off personal safety but some people just
have to be looked after for their own good.
Up here each construction company has to have a designated safety person to
keep track of hazardous materials and make sure the men all use safety
equipment on the job.

I was very impressed by some of the jobsite safety precautions I saw on
Ontario jobsites many years ago, more advanced than what I was seeing on
similar U.S. sites.

The plan to clean up this place is working wonderfully well.
Desperation is a sign of, well....desperation.

Yes, and there is MUCH of that desperation! You can tell by all of the
cross posting, sock puppets, etc.

Well, if nothing else, certain posters are showing their true colors.
It's actually hilarious.

But there are so MANY! Hmmm... There MUST be a way to set up Linux
Thunderbird so it will filter cross-posted stuff... Sigh. Never felt the
need before.

And I thought the election two years ago was nasty. And the one two
years before that. Last year our County Executive decided not to run for
a sixth term. That threw the race wide open. Several Republicans and
Democrats vied for the office. Primaries were held, and some potential
candidates were weeded out. Then the election was held, and one won out.
But the thing is, it was a positive campaign. They disagreed, but each
candidate had respect for the others, and it showed. They campaigned on
the issues facing the county, not on personalities. It was almost pleasant.

Sigh. If only we could do that on a national level.

Ol' Internet Explorer makes it easy to block repeat posters. When they show
up, just click "Block Sender" and they are never seen again unless they
change their name. It's not a big deal.

I'll check it out.
BTW, yesterday I logged onto Gene's server and got a notice that there were
new newsgroups available. Checked to see what they were and one showed up,
"rec.boats.mod".

I subscribed to it, and one message showed up saying something about getting
access to it, sometime in the future.
Said it might take minutes or hours or something. Also said it wasn't
available to other servers.
Didn't really understand it.

Is Gene experimenting with a moderated rec.boats?

Yes, I believe he is. He mentioned something about it last week to me, I
did not know he was going to attach it to this group, but it sounds
interesting...
