You guys are funny.
A 17 year-old unmarried girl gets pregnant.
Her folks are no doubt upset, maybe shamed, and don't want to parade
her belly on national TV. Not good for her, not good for them.
End of the world as we know it.
You sound like a bunch of old housewives sitting around gossiping.
Hilda says, "Martha, did you hear Bertha saw the Connover's youngest,
Betty I think, necking with the Graves' son, Jimmy I think, right in
his car parked in front of the Connovers' house last night?"
Martha, putting both hands to her lips, astounded, says, "Oh Lordy.
Oh Lordy. I do declare, there's trouble brewing there!"
Hilda replies, "What is this world coming to?" and slowly shakes her
head back and forth in a mournful fashion.
Martha follows suit. Then they tsk tsk as continue knitting doilies.
BTW, these old hags could be had for a couple drinks and some sweet
talk when their skin was smooth. And they had shotgun weddings.
Fits you guys to a T. Gossips.

The issue is the mother, not the daughter, and McCain. It's the
Republican b.s. and hypocrisy about abstinence, sex education, and
availability of contraception.

Nope, just teen-age hormones kicking in. Parents' political parties,
views on birth-control and abstinence, etc, etc, don't matter.
Happens all the time.
I used to read the old gossip Ann Landers after I did the crossword.
Couple things I remember her saying, or maybe just passing on.
One was this:
"Your children don't come from you, they come through you."
Makes sense to me.
Now here you are, an avowed liberal, open-minded, ready-to-forgive,
not only castigating the girl's parents, but blaming John McCain
because a teen-age girl got pregnant.
Idealogues are pretty funny.

So the kid's pregnant. That shouldn't be a bother for anyone,
especially the dems. There are programs for her, plenty of them,
including a WIC card which should be readily available to take care of
all her (and ehr babies) basic needs. No need to condemn her, after
all, when a previous POTUS can lie about getting a suck-job from an
intern and be praised for it, then who cares if the under aged Palin
girl is going to have a baby?

Seems that the only thing really unapealing to the dems is that the
daughter is going to keep the baby, instead of having it's brains
sucked out.

It's already broken, and it shouldn't have. Even if true, it's the
family's business, no one else's.
However, there are some tenuous ties to the Alaskan Independence Party
that she should clarify. I'm not sure I'd want a secessionist as
President.
Well, I wasn't going to be the one to spill the alleged details. If it
is true, it is an immediate disqualifier for the woman, not because of
the act, but because of the basic dishonesty it exhibits.

I'd prefer it *not* to be true.

Good spin, but not conclusive.

What is conclusive is that the 17-year-old Palin daughter is pregnant
right now. Would it be news if her mother had not come out so strongly
against school-based sex education and contraception counseling and so
strongly in favor of abstinence?

What's worse...McCain knew about this before he named Palin as his running
mate. Did he think it was going to remain a secret?

Osamabama said the issue is a personal family matter and not to be used by
his campaign. At least he has some class, unlike Hairy.
