Jim did say jazz radio station - assumed jazz guiratists.

Perhaps I'm wrong.

Which, oddly, is something that has happened before. :)

Jim mumbles a lot. You have to interpret.

I am surprised that two of my favorite guitarists are seldom mentioned in
these ratings, Joe Walsh and Don Felder of the Eagles.
Walsh is certainly up there in my book as a rocker. Don Felder is
classically trained and it shows, particularly in the "Hell Freezes Over"
CD/DVD. I enjoy his playing a lot.

I didn't see Mark Knopfler on that list - I may have missed it though.

I was so ****ed about Joan Jett. :)

I have a neat CD you might want to check out sometime. I don't listen
much as it's not quite my cup of tea, but it is Chet Atkins and Mark
Knopfler with a couple of hollowbocy electric Gibsons..

"Neck and Neck" - that is one of my favorite albums.

I like Chet Atkins, but can only take so much of it.
After a while it all sounds the same due to his unique picking style.

Love Chet Atkins.

Did I ever tell the story about meeting him in Nashville and him
autographing my Gretsch Country Gentleman?

Was listening to a Jazz station a couple of days ago and they were doing an
all time great guitar countdown. Carlos Santana was 15th and Eric Clapton
ranked 4th. Who else would be high on the list?

Well, I am not a critic, but I like Jeff Beck, and of course a great
guitarist list would not be complete without Roy Clark..

Jazz guitarists moron. *:)

Come to think of it, Santana and Clapton hardly qualify as "jazz"
guitarists.

Maybe that's why I did not think we were limited to Jazz Guitarists,
or I just would have stopped at Jeff Beck... of course, I read the
whole post there shortpants..

Shortpants this hippy. :)

I think part of the appeal is the obvious fun they had cutting the
tracks. Guy Fletcher, Paul Franklin, Floyd Cramer, and Vince Gill are
among the artists that sit in.. I should scan the inside of the cover,
Chet looks just like Bush 43 It's weird..

I'll betcha Jimi Henrix was number one ... or close.

Really, I have everything he ever did, in three versions And I don't
think he is nearly the best assuming they are looking for technical
skills Now interpretation, could very well be, especially when Mitch
was talking back

I am not a big Jimi Henrix fan, but respect his position in the various
ratings and his heritage.
He was noted more for interpretation, as you say, I think.
I just was never into his type of music.

I liked his version of "Hey Joe" - that's a good one.

He also did a cover of "Smack Water Jack" - (Quincy Jones/Carol King
collaboration) which is out-freakin'-standing.

Mitchell was lucky Hendrix didn't set fire to his drum kit. :)

I really enjoy Hendrix, but I think SRV did a better Hendrix than Hendrix.

I suppose it is for photographers not interested in life as it is,
or for photographers whose composition and exposure skills are
minimal.
I like life as it is. I like to take photos that look as close to
what I saw as possible.
We recently came across an old, forgotten box of family photos. *
One was my high school graduation "glamour" shot ..... you know,
the ones that were airbrushed back at the studio to remove a few
pimples, add a tinge of ruddy red to the cheeks and enhance the
color of the eyes.
In my case, I am kinda glad the photographer didn't simply
reproduce what he saw. *It wasn't pretty.
Eisboch
Did you have a flattop?
Here's a photo of someone's 14-year-old granddaughter.
Do you think it has been photoshopped?
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...eous/diana.jpg
Actually it was photoshoped, using CS3. *If you look at the exif data
you actually made 25 adjustments in photoshop.
I think she is a beautiful young woman, but the lighting is not
complementary to her or her skin tone. *The photo looks flat like you
had the light directly behind you when you took the photo.
How come the picture disappeared?
Because the guy I wanted to see it saw it.
Harry, I noticed you did not disagree with the fact that you
photoshopped the file in CS3.- Hide quoted text -
- Show quoted text -
shhhhh, he's busy deflecting.. The guy is a fraud, every last post...
I had to download the photo to run the EXIF data, so I still have it.

Thanks, my wife has always been creative, but until you and a few others
talked me into buying my wife a D50 for her birthday, I never had any
desire or artistic leaning. My wife does it naturally, I have to work at
it.
Mrs.E. likes portraits. Horses, grandkids .... anything with a face.

With apologies to Harry on the subject matter ..... (another of my number 3
granddaughter, 3 year old "Sophie"), this copy is actually a Photoshop
captured image of Mrs.E.'s computer desktop wallpaper. I couldn't find
the original file from which this was made.

Anyway, it's not altered or color enhanced or anything. Her eyes are
actually that color. This is one of my favorite pictures of her.

Taken, BTW, by the D70 that Mrs.E. bought from Harry.

he he....

Yup, she rides in a beater

Team Rowdy Mouse, you can bitch all you want...

...after the race...

Yeahbut, what does she look like without the Darth Vader mask?

(Cool pic though!)

If you look in some of the photos you could see her eyes, and you could
tell she is a very intense firecracker.

Wow! You've got the only kid Harry could say something nice about!

Congratulations. That has to make your day!

Did you notice how the eyes were tack sharp, with a nice really nice
sparkle.

What I liked most about this photo is it seemed to capture her
personality, a little girl who is very expressive, animated and loves to
show off.
