In the movie made of Heller's book, Major Major was a captain, and the
laundry officer, until his major suddenly died and he was promoted on
the spot.

Yes, I've read that. However, there was no mention of the Dr.-Dr. in
the book. Did she get to be a Dr.-Dr. by a "calculating error"?
